Re: Rant of the Day
My inlaws were staying with us a few weeks ago and inadvertently unplugged our chest freezer. We didn't find out until yesterday, and now we're out over $200 worth of groceries and two gallons of breastmilk that I had pumped for our baby.

Re: Rant of the Day
Also, I really don't understand the irrational anti-Tally business. I still pay freakishly close attention to the board even thought I don't talk on the boardboard as much as I used to, and I honestly can't even figure out why anyone would have a problem with Tally. I don't either! Her answers are ...

Sibling shenanigans (#80530)
My brother convinced me that 1) hot dogs were made of dog meat. As a result I haven't eaten hot dogs since I was three (obviously I don't believe this anymore but I never acquired the taste for them). 2) if you jump or dive into a pool and don't enter perfectly straight it will be as if you had jump...

Re: Rant of the Day
I know there really aren't boy or girl colors and I hope she always feels comfortable wearing whatever she wants. Like I said, I wish it didn't bother me so much because it's so petty to care whether strangers correctly interpret the gender of her clothing. But it still does for some reason. Appare...

Re: Rant of the Day
People always ask if my baby is a boy or a girl. Today she was wearing a pink dress and pink tights and someone at church asked me. Also I feel petty and vaguely like I'm being a bad feminist because this bothers me.

Re: Rant of the Day
That is frustrating! How close are you with your cousin? Do you think they could/would rearrange their date at this point if you talked to them?

Re: Wedding Registries in Inviations
I don't think anyone would mind if you just let them know you have major space constraints. They want to get you something because they like you, not so they can make your life more difficult.

Also we've gone to several weddings for his non-Mormon friends who still live in California and they've all included registry info in the invitation.

Re: Wedding Registries in Inviations
Maybe being against it is an east coast thing? My husband is from California and converted to the church as a teenager and he had never heard of it being rude to include wedding registry information in the invitation.

That sounds miserable. No song and few singers are good enough to listen to for an hour.

Re: Related to "When are you getting married?"
I must either know an extremely nosy group of acquaintances or I invite personal questions somehow. About every few months a coworker or church acquaintance would ask when I was going to have kids. The answer was that we struggled with fertility and I had a miscarriage then tried for 13 months to ge...

Re: Introduce Yourselves!
I've always loved hedgehogs since a classmate brought one for show and tell in second grade. They're pretty adorable, so once I became a real adult I decided to fulfill a lifelong goal. They are not for everyone (kind of prickly) but I think they make great pets.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
My prescription headache medication seems to be working well enough. It could also be the placebo effect, but to be honest, I'm fine with a placebo effect if it means I no longer have pain. Yay! Also, I always thought the same thing. As long as I'm having the desired effect I don't really care whet...

My husband surprised me with my engagement ring, but I had given him general input on my preferences. We chose our wedding bands together.

Re: Introduce Yourselves!
Hi! I'm Rainbow connection. I attended BYU from 2007-2011, found the 100 hour board as a freshman, and have been reading and occasionally asking questions ever since. I was born and raised in Utah, was just laid off and am between jobs, and am married with a two month old daughter and a pet hedgehog.
