Re: #63419 - burial and resurrection

I suspect I know what you're talking about. Or I have my own theory for why it might be considered nice to be buried near family. Either way. But I suspect that resurrected and glorified beings are capable of covering large distances in very short periods of time, so it probably doesn't matter all t...

Re: Career Advice

We have N numbers, from 1 to N. We're going to attempt to sort the list. If we succeed, we'll end up with '1' in the 1st slot, '4' in the 4th slot, etc. Normally, sorting a list requires examining each item and comparing it to at least log(N) of the other items. (Hence, O(N log N).) However, the abi...

So, I just wanna say that if I ever end up having a baby, I'm definitely doing it via C-section.

But that's mostly due to the lack of other options. ;)

Re: Career Advice

I wouldn't expect them to ask you to code over the phone, unless they're really masochistic. That just sounds like torture on both sides of the interview. They'll probably ask you some general questions to gauge your programming experience. It sounds like it's a position to work on a largely web-bas...

Re: Appleton's application of sorts

I was able to read it, but it involved a hex editor. I'm guessing that wasn't the "correct" solution, but I'm not sure what was. Changing to other fonts didn't help.

I can't give you advice on whether you should stay in grad school or not. But if you do decide to jump into software development, let me give you a peek at what you'll be facing. I work full time as a software developer. We recently hired a developer who had just graduated from BYU with a physics ma...

Re: Polygamy

My experience has been that I've got two of these shelves. There's a set of things that I don't understand about my religion given the scientific evidence at hand. But there's also a set of things I don't understand about scientific knowledge given my own spiritual experiences. The fact that I have ...

I read that as "boy's bathroom" on first glance.

A far worse fate, I'm afraid.

I found the old site cluttered and difficult to navigate. I especially appreciate the changes to the General Conference portion of the site.

Re: Mac vs PC

This sums up my big issue with macs. I use (forward) Delete, Home, and End all the time because I like keyboard shortcuts, but I can't use them (or it's more cumbersome) on a mac. I use all of these often on my Mac. The keyboard shortcuts are just different. Home = Cmd+Left Arrow End = Cmd+Right Ar...

You can probably do something like katya@gmail.com and katya+secondaccount@gmail.com. Both of those will be sent to the same email address; anything in the name after the '+' is essentially ignored when sending email. I use this technique when registering on most websites; I'll do yellow+cnn@gmail.c...

Okay. As of today, you should get an email if one of your Board comments is deleted. Naturally, this only works if your email address is set up correctly in your Board profile. The email includes a link to the question you commented on, the text of your comment, and a brief reason for why it was rej...
