Out of curiosity...

I submitted what I thought was a silly, snarky question. Two out of three writers who responded seemed to take offense. The third gave the sort of answer I was expecting. <sigh>

I chose Republican, because my personal views often come closest to that party, but I don't think of myself as a party member of any party. And often vote for Democrats, Independents, etc.

This is beginning to sound like perfect fodder for a self-help group. Hello, I'm A Mom, but not yours, and I have too many email addresses. I have one for work, a hotmail, 2 msn, a yahoo (or possibly 2), and a gmail account. I even check three of those on an almost daily basis. If you need to reach ...

No real advice on models/brands since the last I owned was a hand crank model, however, make sure you consider why you're buying it, what you'll be using it for, and how often you think you'll be using it. Those are vital to determining just how much money you want to spend, cool or not. If you're g...

Just to play devil's advocate here for a moment, I saw nothing wrong with the tone of the question until I started reading the answers. And then my first thought was something along the lines of, "Yeah, I guess you could have taken it that way. Huh." It still didn't feel demanding and rude...

Especially since it was done by someone the movie portrayed as a wonderful person? Perhaps a valid point.

However, it was also the catalyst that sent the girl on her next/continuing quest to make things right with the world....

Tao, I agree that Chrichton adaptations may be more difficult than most since his actual subject matter is almost always political commentary. When the movies are made solely as adventure movies, they lose an essential part of what the book was. Actually, of late I've gotten much better at seeing th...

Ahem., it was Jurassic Park. I read the book. A great message. Reasonably engaging story. It was okay. Not something I'd read over and over, but not a read I regretted. Then I went to the movie. I was okay with exchanging the kids' personalities somewhat so the girl wasn't a wallflower, but when the...

I'm not sure I won't be able to. I just haven't been able to yet. I'll get there. Really. Perhaps it's sort of a holdover from my aversion to seeing a movie right after I've read the book it was based on. I've found that that can be a big mistake. And it's not so much that I don't like the adaptatio...
