Re: 82384 - How to improve piano skills
I was surprised that the question asker said they had mediocre piano skills but said they could play most of the hymns with practice. That doesn't qualify as mediocre in my book, hymns are hard!

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I feel super smart when I figure certain things out such as: identifying where a voice actor was from based on the way she said "drag" (Minnesota, in case you're wondering) and correctly guessing that the same composer did the music for the Mask of Zorro and Troy just from one musical sequ...

Re: NCAA brackets
I was watching the Kentucky-Wisconsin game with my parents. They were rooting for Kentucky because of the potential historical significance. I was rooting for Wisconsin because I have them winning in one of my brackets plus I love to see the favorite go down. I had forgotten how biased my dad is tow...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
So I decided I'd probably survive having one kid, since we have decent careers and several years to decide and it's important to my betrothèd and stuff. This is a huge step to me because I'd pretty much decided against it but if I get myself on some kind of therapy and exercise regimen I think I'll...

I'm so happy someone else in the board community likes sports! It seems like the current writers don't care about them that much. I wanted to put my two cents in about your question. I'm pretty sure the reasoning behind the "first four in" is that it creates 4 more spots for teams that wou...

Seriously, I'd guess they were lying about something. I got in with a 3.4/31 and I didn't apply for any other schools. BYU is tough to get in to but not that tough.

Oddly enough, I am from the Northwest but the guy in question is engaged to a man.

Re: Update to Question #70199
I was an EFY counselor a few years ago and it was so funny to see how all these 14-17 year old girls thought they had met their future husbands. Ah, to be young and naive. *sigh* I actually have asked a lot of relationship questions myself. Such as http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/75013 and http://...

Update to Question #70199
http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/70199/ Just in case anyone was dying to know if anything happened, I was the one who asked the original question. And it turns out the guy in question is gay and engaged...so the minimal chance that I thought I had with him turns out to be none. It's probably a goo...

Re: Answers I liked
I agree with Concorde about Merida. Though I think my issue is more with the movie in general. I only saw it once and didn't enjoy it at all. I thought the humor was not up to Pixar's usual standard. All the animated butts seemed more suited for a Comedy Central cartoon than a Pixar movie. Perhaps I...

Downton Abbey costume
I'm going to a Downton Abbey themed murder mystery party tomorrow as Mrs. Patmore. I want to make myself look plump but don't want to go out and buy a fat suit. Any ideas of how to do that? Any other costume ideas would be great as well.

I want to revive this post just to say that the Linguistics connection made me accidentally recruit Tally to work at the same place as me. I say accidentally because I definitely didn't know who she was before.

Board Question #74785
I would just like to point out that you can see my parent's house from the creepy celebrity stalker website that Stego Lily linked to.

Re: Timp Hike
I survived! Sadly I didn't make it to the summit because my knee started to hurt and I didn't think I'd be able to hike down if I pushed myself to the top. As badly as I wanted to make it to the top, I wanted to make it back down to the bottom more. I'll probably be recovering for at least a week, b...

Timp Hike
I got invited to do the Timp summit hike this Friday night and I'm a little worried that it'll be too hard for me. I hiked a mile or two up the Timpooneke trail a few weeks ago and that wasn't too bad. Has anyone hiked Timp before? How hard is it and do you have any advice?

I know I'm in the minority but I can go for days without taking my bra off, even while sleeping. Unless it's a new bra, I rarely even notice that I have one on.

I'll put in another vote for Washington. I'm from the Tacoma area and I loved it so much. The scenery is beautiful and the people are great. Just don't live in Tacoma itself, that place is sketch.
