Re: Mental illness is dumber
Emiliana, I’ve read that 60 mg is the maximum. One unfair thing is that they don’t make capsules in anything other than 20, 30, and 60, and you can’t just split a capsule to reduce the dosage. And your body becomes dependent on the medication. That’s great that you are doing better now. Some people ...

Just noticed that the picture you use for Portia kind of looks like the self-portrait of Anathema (#91018). In my opinion.

Re: Mental illness is dumber
I have been reading about Cymbalta withdrawal symptoms. I had no idea. It must really be awful. I am so sorry for you. I can see why you are working with a physician to reduce your dosage.
What was your dosage, if I may ask.

Re: How we view relationships #90953
The “philosophy I suggest” is nothing more than the teachings of Jesus Christ. I found this General Conference talk given by the apostle Dallin H. Oaks to be pertinent to the subject. It’s entitled “Unselfish Service” and was given April, 2009. I’m selecting some quotes from it. Our Savior gave Hims...

How we view relationships #90953
100hourboard.org/questions/90953 I think Luciana’s problem is that she is looking at other people in terms of what they can do for her, as if life owes her people who care as much about her as they do themselves That is why she feels surrounded by arrogant and selfish people. She would be much bette...

Re: 90363 & 90656 - Interacting with inactive family members
I have a few thoughts to share. About fifty years ago my oldest brother left the church. It seemed to be a gradual thing. One of the first indications to me was the suggestion that I might do better to serve in the Peace Corp than go on a mission. He did not marry in the temple, although he said it ...

Hi Imogen!
I was thinking about you lately. I couldn’t remember if you used to live in New York, or New Jersey, or am I wrong altogether? I guess I could have search through the records....

Re: Rant of the Day
Sorry if I am coming back to this subject too much. I was just wondering how your grandfather would react if the next time he said something outrageous you asked him what your grandmother would have thought about him saying what he just said. The idea is to see if he would say something like, “Oh, s...

Re: Differing opinions about body types
I completely agree with you, Emiliana. I wonder if “the biggest loser” misunderstood what the guy was really saying. It seems to me that his concern was not so much with his body, but with hers. He may feel that he is an unhealthy underweight or skinny, but guys don’t say they want themselves to be ...

Re: Rant of the Day
I was thinking about the dynamics of married couples. It seems to me that when a man lives with a woman for a long time he becomes sensitive to what he might say that will annoy or offend her. She may tell him later, after he has said something he should not have said, so next time he won’t say some...

Re: Rant of the Day
I guess I have mixed feelings about people who say whatever is on their minds. On the one hand it is good to know exactly where you stand with them. You can better understand them when they aren’t trying to hide their true feelings. You know better what to say to them. You don’t have to guess what t...

Looks like a reader (not me) posted a comment to this question that sounds a lot like my comment.

Lack of ancient copies of the scriptures in America #90617
Lots of good points made by the writers. I notice the writers don’t call into question the dubious statements made by the person asking the question, but I guess it is best to stick to just answering the question.

That’s interesting. I’m not very good at IT stuff. I did live in Arizona for a total of 3 years while going to the University of Arizona. And one of my daughters lives in the Phoenix area.

#90771 Language of Book of Mormon
The writers of the Board brought up a number of interesting and faith-promoting information regarding the translation of the Book of Mormon in other languages. There was something I felt that was missing in their discussion. The person asking the question understood that the Book of Mormon was writt...

#90634. What did Jesus look like?
I thought it was interesting that as far as I can see none of the three answers addressed the issue of what Jesus looks like based on modern day witnesses. Some of the answers suggests he probably looked much different when he was on the earth than he does now. Which I find to be a strange doctrine....

Re: Churchy Faithy Stuff
That’s cool. I once spent a day walking around Old Stone Fort State Archeological Park in Manchester, Tennessee. As you may know the name came from the fact that early European settlers thought it looked just like a fort. Later archeologists said that couldn’t be right as the fort was so big it woul...
