I loved the triangles one. I don't remember tons about it anymore, I'm afraid, and I was never totally sure which one I was...most likely green, though.UffishThought wrote:I'm guessing this is the more standard test and not the triangles one?

Re: werf writers
Just as an FYI for the future, the genders of the secondary aliases aren't usually public knowledge. I guess it's kinda too late now, but often writers prefer to not give out clues that might link them to their primary aliases.

Dang. How can that many people pack in that close without crashing into each other? I'm sure it spreads out a little when you're not at a light, but that's still some crazy density...Giovanni Schwartz wrote:I took this picture. See the floating top half of the building in the distance? Yeah.

Re: What's It Like Not At BYU?
One of the big differences I've noticed being not at BYU is that there's a lot more ethnic diversity where I am now. I've been in classes where the number of people from India and Asia rivaled the number of Caucasians in the class. (These being computer science classes probably helps, but still.) It...

Also, as I understand it, the BSA is considering the possibility of allowing troops to decide for themselves. (The article thatonemom linked to doesn't seem to be available anymore, but this is what I heard on NPR, I think.) Thus, the Church would still be able to sponsor troops without contradictin...

Speaking of which, I also just realized I never set up email on the new server (so it couldn't send out emails), but we had things set up so that people had to click on a link in an email in order to get in. So no new people could get in. There were a dozen people who'd signed up since then who were...

One thing I saw when reading news but hadn't considered before: water mains breaking because of the cold. I guess they hadn't planned for long cold spells like this, or something.

Re: The Church and the ERA
Sorry if my answer upset you, bob. :) Someone asked another question about the ERA so this time I get to argue in favor of it. (I like arguing both sides; I didn't bring up pro-ERA stuff in the last one because it seemed out of place when I was supposed to explain why the Church was against it, but ...

Downtime
As a heads up: our hosting provider is doing a major move of their servers to a different state this weekend. As a result this site will be down January 19th (Saturday) starting around 10:30 PM (Mountain time), and will stay down until Sunday morning (the 20th), probably around 9-11 AM. So if you se...

Re: Doesn't want a roommate
For me, not only is same office and different bedrooms (houses, even! Boy, I'll be glad when that's over) my current situation, but if I do end up marrying Marduk we have wildly different sleep schedules. I don't want him waking me by coming to bed at one, and he doesn't want to be woken up by my a...

For shotguns, buckshot sizes include 0 ("aught"), 00 ("double-aught"), and 000 ("triple-aught"). Or maybe you're thinking of something like a .30-06 rifle, aka a "thirty-aught-six"?

Scheduled downtime
Our host will be doing some upgrades to the server we're on this Thursday morning at 1:30 AM. They expect it to take no more than an hour (but it could be longer). Just an FYI for any night owls who might try stopping by then.

Re: "Wear Pants to Church Day"
It's sensationalist comments like this one that irk me most: "There are young women who cut themselves, and all we care about is if they're wearing a skirt to church. There are single mothers struggling to raise their kids, and all we care about is if they wear a skirt to church. There are wom...

I agree with Yarjka that the third was definitely the weakest. I also agree with Marduk that the ending of the third was just...really, really poorly done, and really kind of inexplicable.

Should I buy this book? I am surrounded by the temptations of hardbacks ALL DAY, but could probably spring for a paperback or two before Christmas. Keep in mind you're talking to someone with a legitimate book addiction. :-) Well, if you're trying to be good and not feed your addiction too much, ma...

Um, I work mere steps away from this book (no sweeter words in the English tongue), and the combination of a male, facial hair, and some kind of Rube Goldberg viewfinder device is the very definition of sexy. For shame, Laser Jock, for shame. Haha. I was a little confused until I looked up the book...
