Re: business ideas
Are you in Provo now? Because like I said, i have a bike in desperate need of brake repair. Technically it's not my bike, and I don't want to invest a ton of money into it, but I would love to ride it.

Re: business ideas
YES! I am currently have partial custody of a bike that is desperate need of brake repair, and while I'm decent at repairing tires our attempt at brake repair left them worse than they were to begin with. @Fred, while there are several bike shops that don't charge that much, there is still the fact ...

After three very long days at work I bought a couple Vanilla Cokes on my way home yesterday.BayesianConspiracy wrote:I leave for Provo in exactly two weeks! I'm excited Vanilla Coke, here I come!

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I have a friend who we would have to hide the moldy bread from him. As in his roommates found a loaf or two of moldy bread over a few months and would take them up to my apartment to throw them out so that he wouldn't take them out of the trash and eat them. He finally stopped after three or four di...

Re: I Dreamed a Dream
I didn't dream last night, but the other day I had a dream that my best friend guy friends (one married, one recently broke up with his gf) got into a fight with a new friend of mine because she was setting me up with a guy. They were all fighting because apparently the guys I already know wanted to...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I had a 12 hour day at work, too! Except mine was interpreting. And there were lots of free meals at places like expensive Italian food and awesome shrimp tacos. Lucky. I did get a free lunch, but it was from the sandwich place across the street. Lunch for all six of us was $23. I know because I wa...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
So I was getting kind of annoyed with a couple different friends for not responding to my texts this week. I had asked a couple questions, that while not really important I wanted to know the answer. I went to text one of them again tonight and discovered that I had never sent the text I was annoyed...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
Border crossings have stressed me out since they decided I was being kidnapped and being taken to Canada. Just because I'm pale and blonde and quiet in unfamiliar situations. My traveling companions were my brother and sister. Sister has tanner skin than I do, and her hair is nearly black. Brother i...

I want to do that. But I figure I should pay off my loans first. But I am willing to pay for a private room.

Re: Weirdest Targeted Ads
At one point in time google thought I was a man. They did get the 18-24 age group right though. That's what extensive searches on RPGs and video game consoles will do. Although right now my searches for jeans and down east basics have set the record straight about my being a female.

Re: #68388 - holy introverts
It depends on my mood and how the week has been going how much alone time I need. Sometimes I get super lonely by myself, and other times I recharge from excessive lengths of alone time.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
Personally I avoid naming characters after people I know. But basically that's the idea. Classmates, friends of friends, those are fair game. Also you can use the second site I linked above to find the popular names in the US by year. I like to look at those. The popularity by year are easy to find ...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
It depends on the type of story. I tend to name according the the setting. If it's about people my age, in a modern society, I go with common names. If a character is older I like to find names that are more dated sounding.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
bob, how do you come up with names of characters on your books? My outline so far is about man 1, man 2, woman, and crone #1. I'm not bob, but I like to browse name books. If you don't have an abnormally large name book collection on hand, some of my favorite websites are: http://www.behindthename....

Re: The brownie analogy
Oh, yeah, I have seen the King's Speech, although it was the PG-13 version. I have a good friend who has a personal goal not to watch R rated movies, but felt no qualms seeing that movie on multiple occasions, although I believe the only time he saw it without muting that scene was when he joined us...

Re: Hobbies
I would suggest that to take up cooking you first learn to cook a favorite dish that you don't yet know how to. A favorite food from the mission or a favorite dish from child hood. From there go on to an ingredient you would like to use better. For me right now I'm practicing my use of yeast, as I'v...
