Re: the modesty shaming valentines letter #85338
For some reason, this makes me think of that time a few years ago when someone thought sandals were immodest because he had a foot fetish... anyone else remember that one? yes, which helped me realize that... at some point I don't care if it turns someone on, I'm just going to have to wear somethin...

Re: Stuff we're reading / watching / listening to
I'm watching M*A*S*H on Netflix. I remember watching a handful of episodes when I was in middle or high school, but here are some things that I definitely did not catch when I was a kid: 1. The writing is PHENOMENAL. Almost every line is a gem. 2. The misogyny. The rape culture. Eeeeesh. Just becau...

Attracting? No, there've been a handful that have come through at least enough to register and post a few times. They haven't stayed long, though.

What specifically are you referring to? All I see is a comment asserting non-affiliation.

It is almost as if.... alcohol is not the only variable in behavior and attitude, and that our own perceptions of our behavior also color that behavior. Wow!

Re: impulsive drinking - 85066
The church is not aggressive about pursuing and enforcing word of wisdom issues among its membership. It can't be. In many areas in the church, it'd drop the numbers of attendees in half, or worse. Honestly, even someone who continually drinks and is unapologetic about it will likely have their temp...

Re: angry parents
I teach mostly 18-year-olds, so legally, I don't have to deal with parents. I'm just waiting for some parent to overstep bounds and ask me for a report, so I can be like "I don't gotta tell you nothin'."

Re: Gift Money #85056
I don't particularly care for gifts. Money is useful to me, however, so if people are getting me physical gifts, I tend to just ask for money. It tends to just get spent wherever.

I see no reason to believe that percentage of BYU students who are not heterosexual is any higher or lower than the rest of the country/other college campuses.

Also, I agree with Portia. I don't think gay sex is somehow inherently kinkier or weirder than straight sex.

How can anyone be that certain that they would NEVER EVER want to try something with a partner? I don't get it.
