Re: How Mormon are you?

Krebscout, do you read the blog The Mormon Childbride? Some of what you expressed reminds me of what she blogs about, and I think you'd enjoy reading it (if you don't already).

Re: Making out and its ramifications

I love the word "necking" - it's so incredibly vague. I always picture people rubbing their necks together and moaning. Too funny.

And those percentage drops with petting and pre-marital sex are really interesting. I wonder how much/if those numbers have changed since 1973...

Re: How Mormon are you?

I also feel that I'm being slightly understood. Maybe. Or maybe I'm just crazy. But from my point of view, the most important things to being a good Mormon are obeying the commandments (including the ones NOT specifically mentioned in the quiz--serving others, paying fast offerings, etc. are still ...

Re: How Mormon are you?

So for the four temple marriage points - how does it work for people who were married in the temple, but are no longer active? Is it still four points?

Re: tattoos

I assume the current BYU students are going to wait til they graduate/leave to pursue this? Ha. Was anyone else in school back when they had the soapbox by the Wilk occasionally? It was an actual crate labeled "soapbox" with a microphone that people could stand on and talk about issues th...

I'm still a BYU student, and I plan on getting my tattoo whether or not I go back (I'm on a medical leave of absence until next fall). So no, I'm not waiting.

Re: tattoos

I still have to pick an artist that I like, and so far I've got nothing. I may plan a whole trip and go out of state to see someone on the West Coast, just so I can have exactly what I want. Since you mentioned the West Coast, I thought I would throw this information out there. My uncle (the tattoo...

Re: tattoos

I think the biggest obstacle for me in getting a tattoo would be... is there really any image or word I want permanently on my skin? At this time in my life, no. Also, how taboo would it be to ask someone (say, in my class) about the "meaning" of her tatoo? I'm so curious *why* someone wo...

Re: Making out and its ramifications

I'm about to hijack this thread and get a little TMI, so stop reading now unless you want to read potentially juicy stuff about my love life. My husband and I had sex before we got married, and I'd like to say that in my personal experience, making out wasn't what led us there. Now, before some of y...

Re: weblogs

Do you mostly only read blogs of close friends and family? I don't have an interest in a "personal" blog, but don't know a good way to promote a reviews one. I read lots of blogs written by people I don't know in real life, some of which fall under specific content themes, but many don't....

Re: weblogs

I don't think blog-readers are as picky about blog design as some people seem to think. When I start reading a new blog, the most important thing to me (aside from the content, of course) is that the layout is simple, and that the design is really clean. If someone has a really cluttered blog, like ...

Re: Linguistic patterns in Utah (question #68779)

Ooh! one of the ones I've started noticing is "couple few." As in "I'll just talk for a couple few minutes about this-and-such, and then we can move on." Listen for it. It's not excessively common, but it's around. My ex-boss said "a couple three" all the time. I have ...

Have you looked into maybe using CafePress or Zazzle? I'm pretty sure you can just upload an image and they'll put it on any style of T-shirt you want.

I completely disagree with his answer, but then again I completely disagree with just about everything he says. So take that for what it's worth. I just laughed so hard at this! I was kind of put off by the last paragraph in Kirke's answer. I feel that the generic "well if you really wanted to...

Thank you Whistler! The brain is sort of crazy that way - how does your dad do with math (and other thinking skills) now? And boo for comas. I have nothing nice to say about comas.
