Re: Den of apostates
Shrinky dink, I have an unfounded suspicion that more retired writers are inactive/no longer Mormon but don't participate in alumni week. It feels like a pretty specific time period shows up. Yeah, almost all my closest friends are Millennial Apostates. Few of them are as engaged with the Church or...

I just listened to the soundtrack for Dear Evan Hansen, and I think it treats the topic of Teenage Mental Health ™️ with sensitivity.

Re: Mental illness is dumber
Yeah, so I got recruited to a dream program starting this fall but my brain has decided that my ex is still sleeping with me but also meeting some chick in San Francisco is the more salient issue.
And saying that makes me feel even worse. Like, I really am that much of a doormat.

Re: What are you drinking?
Lots of things. I had Warsaw Mules (with Zabrowka) at this Polish bar in Santa Monica. Had Mezcal poorly mansplained to me by a drunk guy at a 30th birthday party which made me feel like Nick Carraway. Actually had Mezcal at my BFF's tonight and let him mansplain it to me. :P it was good. Saw it on ...

Guys, my dad thought I lived in Vermont not Wisconsin and if I ever get a vanity project HBO show, that detail is going in. Nevertheless, we actually had a valuable heart-to-heart talking about both my garbage love triangle that exploded in Q1 and my aspirations for graduate school. Turns out he hat...

My grandfather was a straight, white, middle-class male who killed himself. YMMV!

Awesome, thanks! If you're participating in reunion, maybe I'll ask the question then. :-)TheBlackSheep wrote:Yeah, a lot of psychologists and sociologists study this kind of thing. Someday if I find time I'll write you up some of it.

Shout-out to the kosher board board for leading me to this Tinder question . haha it's the worst Fun fact, Tinder now auto-sorts your photos based on those which its creepy algorithm finds the most attractive. I don't wear makeup that often and my weight naturally varies in an 8-ish pound rage over ...

And I think culture shapes the way we express our despair. Once a particular set of symptoms becomes...

Re: We need to pressure young LDS women more about marriage.
This question made me :-\. Being that disillusioned at ~23 and defining oneself by one's prettiness, combined with the Nice Guy Syndrome questions, make me feel gross. Why not just live life and let it happen? Oh wait, maybe because women HAVE NO AGENCY IN THIS SYSTEM

There's even an important scene from April 2, 2007. First mortgage lender going bust. I was just thinking about flying to Paris later that month!
