Re: What's for dinner?
Microwave Indian food and green beans leftover from breakfast yesterday. And maybe some chips and dip that I was eating on call last night.

Re: Requirements for Monson Scholars
Interesting. I was a Hinckley Scholar 15 years ago, and back then you came to campus for like 4 days of interviews. 4.0 GPA, 33 ACT, zero AP or any kind of honors classes because my tiny rural high school didn't have stuff like that. And pretty sure no one called my bishop.

Re: Rant of the Day
I was in a physics class at BYU with my friend once (like a small, 4th year physics class) and this weird guy (that sure narrows it down in the physics department) was sitting beside us and just having this constant running commentary and wasn't taking the hint that we didn't want to talk to us. My ...

Internet group hug!!! This is so awful Tally. You're handling this really well. We love you! I wouldn't call writing placeholder answers in all caps "handling this really well" I write angry placeholders when people ask dumb questions about Canada, so I think writing such placeholders whe...

Re: Awkward Initials #80490
My initials are KEM, which is not awkward. But for some reason it always made my mom think of the Dutch airline KLM (she used to go to a lot of conferences in Europe at one point in her life), and more than one time she labelled all of my pencils and things for school "KLM."

Re: Wisdom teeth
I was just thinking today about how teeth are so weird. My wisdom teeth tried to grow sideways under the teeth beside them. And I just think the whole baby teeth that fall out thing is so weird. Like there's a several years long period of your life when your teeth just fall out all the time, but tha...

Re: Wedding Registries in Inviations
I got a wedding invitation from an LDS couple a few years ago that said, "In accordance with Chinese tradition, we are requesting that guests give us money in red envelopes." The bride and the groom were both white Canadians and neither of them had any connections at all to China.

I kind of want to start a thread where those of us who have diet restrictions can assign some of the omnivorous folks to eat something we are craving but can't have. Anyone want to eat some Triscuit for me? I miss Triscuits.

Re: Shaving vs. Waxing
So...does that belief extend to all body hair, Nerdgirl? Unshorn legs and armpits and faces? If not, why not? Yes, it does, but it's just so much worse when you get shaving-related badness in the pubic area, so I'm maybe not as vocal about beards/armpits/legs. If people really want to shave/wax, th...

Shaving vs. Waxing
http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/79874/ I am a huge proponent of option C, leave your pubic hair alone. I've seen enough abscesses from ingrown pubic hairs and bad razor burn at this point in my career that I am just like no. Humans have hair there, it's ok to have hair there. Plus, the way that mo...

Attack of the bright lights and sound
http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/79719/ Only tangentially related to the question, but it reminded me of the time I was doing a planetarium show at BYU and a kid asked me how close we could get to the sun before it would burn us. I was like, "Well, we are 93 million miles away from the sun and...

Re: #79572 - Tall guys
My parents are fairly close to the same height, but my mom has bigger feet than my dad. Slightly bigger. Back in the 90s they had pairs of identical Teva sandals, and my dad finally had to paint little dots on his because my mom kept wearing his by accident and stretching them out.

Oh man, I was hoping we were talking about this. Wow. Also, for the record, I frequently see garbage trucks parked by the 7-11 on my way home with both male and female-looking drivers coming out of them. And if the questioner was thinking along the lines of, "Well, men can just pee behind a bus...

Ok, I'm not going to comment on whether or not I think the temple is sexist, and that's because I personally have never had issues with it, but can completely see how people would. My experiences have all been very positive, but that doesn't invalidate the many women who have not had positive experi...

Re: Rant of the Day
I am really frustrated and sick right now, and I would love for someone to give me a blessing, but I don't have anyone to give me a blessing because I haven't had home teachers in the past 10 years or so because I've been in wards where single women don't get home teachers. And the 3 Mormon guys I k...

Which board writer are you?
http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/78733/
I can't even believe there was a quiz and I'm the first one posting my answers. I'm usually so far behind on my board reading.
Apparently I am M.O.D.A.Q. and Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of 'Nym.

People need to not tailgate you when you're going the speed limit in a school zone. No, dudebro, I will not speed up and kill small children. If you have to be somewhere, maybe you should have left earlier. Also, still disturbed by the amount of people texting and driving, especially people with sma...

Decorating your boyfriend's room
http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/78916/ This question reminded me of a time at BYU that I helped a guy friend move into a new apartment (to a private room). It was a 4 person apartment. Roommate number one was there at the beginning, and he just watched TV while guy friend and I hauled boxes into h...
