Re: Deciding Where to Settle Down
I grew up in Idaho and moved to Utah in 2004. Yellow has lived in Utah his entire life, sans mission when he lived in Spain. (I had a brief stint in China and Israel.) I mostly started looking into educational things a year or two ago. So I had two kids at the time. I mean, I had thought about it a ...

Re: Deciding Where to Settle Down
We're pretty sure we're settled here in Utah. We'll hopefully move once more, to build our forever home, but barring unforeseen circumstance, it'll be around here somewhere. Part of it is because it's familiar. Much of it is due to proximity to family, which is important to us. It's also a big hub f...

http://www.hypable.com/2014/02/01/jk-rowling-ron-hermione-relationship-regret-interview/ Ok, fine bismark. I'll reply, even though you didn't give any commentary with the link to encourage me to click it. I just wrote my sis-in-law on her mission and she asked about the new HP movie (the one about ...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
the research I've read on yogurt (like this http://www.nature.com/ijo/journal/v29/n4/abs/0802880a.html) finds that yogurt can help obese people lose weight, and it can help infants with diarrhea stop pooping so much and gain some weight (http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/88/5/1010.short...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I tried alum. Hurts like crazy is right. And no appreciable difference. Shame. Well, now I know not to ever try it again. The other thing she recommended was probiotics. She specifically recommended it in yogurt, but knowing what I know now, I'd say just to buy liquid probiotics. Way more quantity....

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I learned in like, 8th grade, that putting alum on a canker sore will make it go away. I have no idea how much truth there is to this, but it wouldn't hurt to try. (Actually, it does hurt. It stings like crazy. But you know what I mean.)

Re: What's for dinner?
We had coconut curry (from a mix) last night & it was really tasty. There were raisins in with it, which I thought would be weird at first. But they were great. We always keep golden raisins on hand, specifically for this very dish. Also, we had the balsamic butter pasta tonight. It was, as alw...

Re: What's for dinner?
This is my menu for the next few days. Not sure what which day: - Pull apart pizza (biscuits cut up, mixed with pizza toppings, sauce and cheese, then baked in a casserole dish with cheese on top) - Balsamic butter pasta with asparagus - coconut chicken curry - White bean chicken soup All have chick...

Re: Facial hair on men
I had a roommate once upon a time who kissed her boyfriend goodnight. The next morning she woke me up in a panic. She had gotten a beard burn from all her kissing the night before. Her poor chin was rubbed raw. She worked at the testing center (at BYU-I) and was like, "I can't go into work look...

Re: Atlanta snowpocalypse
Yellow once got stuck between two Lehi exits for 4 hours because of a snow storm. But there was, like, snow involved. More than an inch or two. He was also supposed to be accompanying his sister's flute performance for a competition. Thankfully he had decided to leave a few hours early.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
@Uffish, no worries. Like I said, it's not a big deal. You don't even see her brand of magic in Elantris. Well... hint. Magic is broken in Elantris. So... of course you don't see her brand of magic. Hope that wasn't a spoiler. You figure it out in like, one page. @Indefinite... that's my brother's n...

Re: What's for dinner?
Thanks! They even are free from my Black List ingredients! I wasn't expecting that, honestly. We may have to make pizza soon! Maybe something like... chicken, artichoke, bacon, spinach on alfredo. That sounds really delish. And sounds like a Papa Murphy's ripoff... Bwahaha.Digit wrote:Boboli.

Re: What's for dinner?
Heh. Yellow doesn't cook unless I'm too sick to do it and ask him to. He's gotten a bunch of experience this pregnancy. lol. But I think asking him to make a dough would be pushing it. I don't mind making bread. Maybe I should get brave and try it. It's just that pizza pan that has been scaring me o...

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
Ooooh. Both good ones. Read Elantris first. Because Emperor's Soul is set in the Elantris world. It won't spoil anything if you read Emperor's Soul first. But it is kind of fun to get hints of the Elantrian world in Emperor's Soul. (It's slight. Don't expect huge overlap. I probably wouldn't have ha...

Actually, Vorpal, I love curry. Haha. Maybe I should try my coconut chicken curry with shredded chicken instead of cubed. That could be yummy. Also, Whistler, I'll have you know it's been really hard not to just shoot down a recent idea on here. So in an attempt to make an effort to change... So... ...

Re: Cars with high smog ratings
Which Prius? A hybrid? I was intrigued to learn that electric cars don't need oil changes. Clearly I know nothing about how a car engine works.
