I had a desktop when I first started school here, and from that experience I learned one thing. I would much rather have a five year old laptop than a brand new desktop. (And since that time I have had three laptops. One six years old, one four years old, and one three years old.)

laptops > desktops unless you need some serious computational power (hd video editing, 3d modeling, etc). a laptop with an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard is much much handier.

Who doesn't need serious computational power?

seriously... computational power is serious business!
Everything below the line of coherence may be safely ignored.

i dont need it. even for compiling something pretty big, my macbook will do just fine. web browsing, email, IM, music, word processing, programming, video watching are my biggest uses of my computer.. every works great on my macbook, and i love the portability.

I would gladly take a slight hit in computational power for a huge increase in portability and travel practicality. :)

Then why did I laugh?
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

Well I do... all the time... So if you take everything I say seriously that might make things pretty weird... O_o
