Randomness
Recently the Board board has taken a turn toward a disruptive amount of randomness. The administrators agree that it has gone to far. While we encourage discussion and creativity, and love funny, ironic conversation, we would ask forum members to try to keep on the subject of the thread. This was the reason that the "Randomness" thread was originally created, to give a place for this kind of random conversation.
In order to further encourage this change, we will begin to post reminders in threads that we feel have gone too far off topic. If we feel that it is still out of control, we may start locking topics or deleting replies that are off topic.

Is this a new game/competition?Giovanni Schwartz wrote:I think we should have a tally to see who gets reprimanded the most often for going off topic. (Cough... 361... Cough...)

I'm totally taking Golf this year.Giovanni Schwartz wrote:And since I can't edit my posts in here, I was going to add "I guess that makes golf an uncompetition too."

We could have where everyone starts out with 10 points, and then for each moment of randomness a point is lost.Giovanni Schwartz wrote:Oops... randomness... One point for Giovanni.
When you get to 0, you lose.

You heard it team, all randomness is to be quarantined to it's rightful place, the randomness thread. Lest someone go and 0shoot informe's servers to put down the board due to a misunderstanding of the word "lame." (or we force Fred to be mean.)
This site, and the opinions and statements contained herein do not necessarily reflect on my sanity, or lack thereof.
If you wanted to go hard-core, you could limit the number of posts made in a day by members. (Just so that the uber-posters would have to think about what they're posting and not just say, well, random stuff.) At least, i think you can do that on this incarnation of BB. I know you can enforce a time limit between posts, which might have roughly the same effect. Ideally, though, you could limit the number of daily posts on a user basis for frequent offenders.
