Oh, please, Vista hate is SO 2007. Service Pack 1 came out months ago, and fixed the early shipment issues. Vista is as stable as XP, but it's gotten so much negative press that it's become the pariah in the industry. Hence, Windows slapping a new GUI on it and calling it Windows 7 (the beta of which has gotten substantial good press).

Now, you want a real dog of an OS? Check out Windows ME. That thing was a turd.

Which is why I use XP. Before XP, we used '98.

Linux anyone?

Just kidding. I really like Macs, but I don't have one at home. So I use my Windows XP.

I agree, macs all the way. But Vista looks prettier now than anything Windows came out with before, and I really haven't heard too many complaints for people that actually get used to it with all the updates, that is... and anyone that knows what they are doing can always have some bit of their heart reserved for Linux.

You know, the first time I read Imogen's comment, I read "NEW BRAND!!!" I thought, when has Nissan been a new brand all the sudden? You just have to laugh at those moments.

So I just gave a 20 minute talk in church, to two wards. I choked-- I shook the whole time, sweated bullets, and if I looked up from my talk (actually if I did or not), I would fumble over words. I did not look up basically the rest of the time... and I pushed my bible off the podium. Great way to show everyone I'm back home for a couple months. Argh. I hope someone got something out of it besides my humiliation and a laugh.

I bet someone got something more out of it.

I haven't spoken in sacrament since my homecoming talk(s), I guess I might be invisible.

I'm actually using Ubuntu 8.10 right now. It's rock solid stable, super fast, FREE, and it looks gorgeous. And in 15 minutes I can make it look just like OSX 10.5 OR Vista. Plus I have the rotating cube desktop. It's amazing.

Now, if only I could get the right hardware drivers to work... :P

I just want you all to know that I did not die on the way to school today.

As am I. The literary world would be at a loss if you died prematurely due to snow.

Hey, UoE, I just barely saw you. You seemed to be in class in the HFAC.

I probably was. I'm in an art class and we were looking at the art gallery.

Direct Transcript: (almost)

[Phone rings]

Me: Hello?
Telemarketer (TM): Hello, Mrs. Schwartz?
Me: Umm, no... This is her SON.
TM: Oh, well can I talk to Mrs Schwartz?
Me: No.
[Long pause]
TM: Hello?
Me: Hi... (With a tone of "I don't frankly care what you say next")
TM: So, can I talk to Mrs. Schwartz?
Me: No.
TM: Well, where is she?
Me: I didn't say she wasn't here. I just said you couldn't talk to her. (She wasn't home, anyways)
TM: Well, why not? (With a genuine "Why not?" tone of voice)
Me: Because you called me a woman.
TM: No I didn't!
Me: Yes you did! I answered the phone, and you said "Hello, Mrs. Schwartz"
TM: No I didn't! I said Mister!
Me: No you didn't!
TM: Yes, you did!
Me: Yes you did! I'm hanging up now.
TM: But...
Me: Goodbye.

That's funny Gio. I like the ones where I get a call from some place that is trying to extend my warranty on my car. After explaining to them that it is a 15 year old car that I bought used and the mileage it has (137,000 miles or so), I ask them why they think I need to extend my warranty. It's fun to hear them try to think of something.

My sister proposes marriage to the recordings. And my mom once told a telemarketer "Thanks for thinking of us" and the kid on the other end was so surprised that he said goodbye and hung up.
