Yeah, seriously! And now I want to go out and get myself a magnetic pick up tool. I can't believe no one ever told me such a thing existed!

heh, they aren't that common in that particular setting, as often such small tools are used in electronic repair. The three prong grasper* tends to be more common.

*no clue what the tool is actually called, that particular phrase is the medical incarnation of the device.

He who knows himself has discernment.

So, are magnetic pick up tools death to alarm clocks?

I think maybe that particular one is, because it's kind of small, and you might get the alarm a few feet off the ground with it, but then it will fall and smash.

I think it is probably more relative to what is in most alarm clocks now. That picture is obviously an archaic alarm clock, but no one has those anymore. Most alarm clocks have digital pieces which magnets are the death of.

The timing of analog alarm clocks can sometimes permanently get thrown off if they get too close to a magnet. Or so I was told when I was little...

Huh. I remember very few conversations about analog clocks from my childhood. I feel deprived. :(

I wear an analog wristwatch, and my 64-year-old thesis advisor makes fun of me for not having a digital one.

See, but now analog wristwatches are old enough to be classy. Don't know what his problem is.
