#68388 - holy introverts

I would choose no more than 2 to 3 hours per day for some reading. I hate being asocial! I'm never happier than when I'm meaningfully interacting with others. I was even a very social Board writer. Craziness.

Portia, you're crazy.

I, for one, love me some alone time. It's a good thing missionaries are doing God's work, or else I would probably be insane by now.

It depends on my mood and how the week has been going how much alone time I need. Sometimes I get super lonely by myself, and other times I recharge from excessive lengths of alone time.

It really varies with me. I've been home by myself for 8 hours a day and I got lonely after a few months. Now that I have a dog it doesn't seem as bad though.

My most stressful times of year are when Marduk and I go visit his sister, when his sister comes and visits family here in Utah, and the week or so around major holidays like Christmas. Right after those kinds of events I spend an entire day in my room and only leave when I think I won't see any of the other people who live here, and even during those events I often run away and hide for an hour or two.

In other words, I add my voice to those who need their alone time.
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

I am shocked, shocked that an online forum is proving to be full of introverts.

Hahaha, Katya.

I get edgy if I have to spend too much time around other people, but it turns out that I'm a mild extrovert. Just one that has to retreat and regroup for a while (usually to read a book/surf the web). And is shy. And doesn't usually start conversations or reach out.

(This going off the definition of "spending time with people energizes you" as extroversion. I was just friendly for like a whole half hour at work today and the high made it so I could actually face going back to work!)

I'm definitely an introvert. The last human interaction I had besides family and church functions was probably... About a month ago. In Taiwan.

Was with people all day. I love meeting new people & hanging out with my family. I like online fora, too, though, but I can check those as I walk to work or before bed. It looks like I'm on an exrreme end of extroversion, to the point that long hours alone makes me anxious.
