Pee in the pool
http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/68447/
I would like it to be known that lifeguards pee WAY more in the pool than anyone else. At least, in the public pool system where I worked.

Re: Pee in the pool
Although I don't think I could actually pee in a pool myself because it goes against every instinct I have to pee somewhere other than a toilet or behind a bush, I'm not at all grossed out by the idea of someone else peeing in the pool. Pee isn't gross.

Re: Pee in the pool
As a former lifeguard, I can honestly say that I've never knowingly peed in a pool.

Apparently. Plus I don't even remember how to deliver a baby.

I feel like we ought to put up a survey about this.

baha. Looks like the jury is still out.
Also...I thought nobody peed in the big kid pool. I am so much more naive than I ever realized.

Re: Pee in the pool
I answered yes on the poll, since I used to always pee in the pool as a kid and teenager. I remember it used to not matter, even if I had just gone to the bathroom, the minute I entered the pool I found I had to pee. Then I didn't really go swimming all through college for various reasons, and when I recently went swimming, I found that even though I tried, I couldn't bring myself to actually go pee. I guess I've matured.
I used to pee in the shower too, but perhaps that's a separate poll for another day.

Re: Pee in the pool
I'm intrigued that almost a quarter of the respondents have been lifeguards. This is a very safe thread.

Indeed. Best summer job ever, for a teenager, in case you were wondering.

Lifeguard at a summer camp may be even better.
I hit yes, but I don't remember if I ever did it WHILE I was a lifeguard. I spent most of my time up in my chair, not in the pool.

Re: Pee in the pool
We had safety breaks every hour. So we all got in the pool and did our business. Well, I guess there were some exceptions, but 98% of the people did.
Which reminds me of a funny story: I was on break and we (the three of us on break) were looking out the window at a young man who was guarding the 2 foot deep kiddy pool. Too shallow to pee in, right? So we're watching him, and we notice that as time goes on, he seems to be getting more and more nervous. Then he starts looking at the office. Then he starts doing the "peepee dance". Then he FINALLY signals one of us to go out and relieve him so he can sprint across the deck to the bathroom.
