Re: I Dreamed a Dream
I just dreamed that Katya, Petra, and I went on a road trip to Alaska in a big rig, and it was a lot of fun. I'm sad I woke up now.

Re: I Dreamed a Dream
First of all, my parents left their alarm on when they went out of town, so I got to dream about alarms for a while.
But I also dreamed that I was chatting with yayfulness and he was telling me all about his fiancee, and I couldn't tell him that I thought he'd been single all this time because apparently he wasn't (and is it rude to imply that someone's engagement is ridiculously fast? I think it must be), but then I woke up and checked the Board. and had to laugh.
Wait a second, that whole paragraph was one long, convoluted sentence. I am ashamed.

I dreamed that Mitt Romney was in a class I was teaching. He didn't seem to be paying attention, so I called on him to answer a question. He got it partially right, but ultimately kind of missed the point of what I was saying. Then later I was on the news and I got to tell the newscasters how I totally schooled Mitt Romney.
Re: I Dreamed a Dream
Also apparently I had a dream about singing and dancing fleas a few nights ago. I don't remember it, but Marx said I told him about it while I was still half-asleep.

Nancy Drew was the POV character and she was sneaking around trying to stop this man who was trying to convince people that he had paranormal powers. When she finally confronted him, she acted very unimpressed with all of his feats of magic. She claimed that although she wasn't Teller-good, she was Penn-good at illusions. She had plans of having Ned Nickerson go snooping around for her after her face became known to the bad guy. I woke up before that could happen.

I dreamed that I and someone else were trying to break into this woman's house to steal a jewel but she found us and then she bribed me into helping to protect the jewel, instead and she wanted me to take it with me when I left so that no one would know where it was because people kept trying to steal it. So I took it with me but then the woman killed someone or somehow they got killed and I wasn't directly involved with that, but I was worried that I would be connected with the death because I was hiding the jewel for this woman.
And then I woke up and realized that the woman who owned the jewel was Brittney Spears, but that didn't really register in the dream.

Re: I Dreamed a Dream
I had a very, very detailed and involved dream concerning the Sundance Film Festival being held on BYU's campus. I was working down there, and we could go watch fi;ms as long as we were back at a certain time (5 PM, I think) / checked in. I watched a lot of them, and saw some of my friends from here doing a dance routine with Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller leading. After the films, there was a question and answer session where I rather stridently insisted on how BYU needed a more open culture and people needed to watch films that challenged their beliefs (that was the jist).

Re: I Dreamed a Dream
Last night one of my friends was about to propose to his girlfriend, and the proposal involved a massive cupcake tribute to White Castle. Except all my sleeping brain could come up with about White Castle was "junk food," so there were three or four huge cupcake hamburgers and one glow-in-the-dark cupcake corndog all cobbled together into some kind of monument. She hadn't seen it yet, but he was bouncing off the walls with excitement. I guess it had something to do with their first date?
Oh, gosh, I forgot the part that preceded it. The couple and I and a few other friends were out riding, and one of them was a really bad driver. He drove up behind another convertible, and grabbed onto their back headrest. Then we went around a curve fast and our car flew off the road--only held on by my friend's grip on the headrest. It went in terrifying slow motion for a second and then we touched down and the cops whizzed past us to give tickets to the other car. We jumped down and hid in a local park, but the cops found us almost immediately, and one turned out to be an 18 year old kid with one missing front tooth from my old ward. He let me off with just a warning, tried to rope me into his pyramid scheme, and then I snuck out early to witness the cupcake monstrosity.
Dang.

I don't always have amorous dreams about men who are not my husband, but when I do, I have them with Sauron's friend/classmate who is in his forties, gay, and the former president of GLAD.
...I thought it was really funny.

Re: I Dreamed a Dream
I had another one of my epic dreams last night - the ones that almost completely make sense and with a bit of tweaking would make good novels. There was a war, a royal wedding that had to be stopped, a very crafty and sly king, fantastical elements like giants and anthropomorphic animals... plus I was both actually playing myself and I was kind of awesome.
But then I realized I had slept in about an hour and a half, so I had to jump out of bed without seeing the ending.

The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.
Re: I Dreamed a Dream
My roommate was telling me (without knowing that I had just opened this thread) that he was dreaming about being in a post-apocalyptic world. This bird kept following him around and wouldn't leave him alone, and somehow he knew that the bird was in love with him. So he paid a bunch to gold to someone to use their baby, and he carried the baby around with a bottle so that the bird would see him and be like, "Oh, he's taken." And eventually the bird left him alone and found another bird to be with.

Re: I Dreamed a Dream
I was at Disneyland when I ran into krebscout, who asked me to watch her pet hedgehog while she competed in a ballroom dance competition. So I have this hedgehog on a leash, and no sooner does krebscout glide off wearing a lot of sequins, than the hedgehog finds a mongoose to pick a fight with. I break it up pretty quickly, but not before the hedgehog loses a fang and starts bleeding. I keep dabbing at him with kleenex, but he keeps bleeding and one of his pupils is majorly dilated, and before I know it he's dead, and I can't find krebscout anywhere, and what am I going to tell her when I do find her?
All in all, a very stressful dream.

A prophetic vision. Ballroom dancing, hedgehog-raising, and wearing sequins are three of my secret hobbies.
Re: I Dreamed a Dream
I dreamed that the newspaper wrote an article about my friend for being so awesome -- learning about cartography and music and animals. She even wrote a play about Ivanhoe in her ear. But when I looked in her ear, all I saw was earwax.
Re: I Dreamed a Dream
I used a very heavy blanket last night (made out of jeans, and I could barely lift it). Something about being trapped under that thing made me have very vivid dreams that I greatly enjoyed.
At one point I'm just getting back to my car after a fairground interlude, and I've parked at a red curb and the sheriff is there writing me a ticket. And deflating my tires (apparently that's what they did there). But someone who looks an awful lot like Andrew Garfield is also there, because he's been looking for me.
Then we're magically in my car, he's driving, I'm impressed at his magic skills, but he won't tell me where we're going. And I say, with not very much alarm, "Oh, you must be kidnapping me."
And he doesn't deny it.
Then we're magically in a magical land and pass a temple I'd never heard of, and then I get to the place where I would probably have gone if I hadn't gotten distracted at that fair. (One good thing that did come out of that fair was I happened to be holding two doughnuts that the sheriff was happy to take in exchange for only deflating one of my tires.)
I just like the idea of being benignly kidnapped by Andrew Garfield.

It's so weird and interesting when dreams are affected directly by how you are sleeping.C is for wrote:I used a very heavy blanket last night (made out of jeans, and I could barely lift it). Something about being trapped under that thing made me have very vivid dreams that I greatly enjoyed.
I had a horrible dream where I plotted to kill my ailing grandfather (who, in reality, died ~10 years ago). It was like something straight out of all these detective shows I watch, except I was the murderer.
Re: I Dreamed a Dream
I had gone through the timeline at least twice before and knew that something was going to happen that day, even though I had fixed things. Cue the chapel being lifted into the sky while I was in Sacrament meeting. I ran out, pausing only to grab my laptop, and I jumped to the ground that wasn't going up. My mom (who wasn't in the church at the time) and I began our exodus to Portage Glacier with lots of other people. But things were following us. Sometimes they were hallucinations, but some may have been more real.

Re: I Dreamed a Dream
Stressful dream about being late for work. I knew in some part of my mind that there are no young dudes at that job, that it's a cadre of female booksellers, but the whole thing felt real.
