Teenager Repellant

Post by NerdGirl »

These things really exist... go here: http://movingsoundtech.com/ and scroll down a bit and they have sound demos that only people under various ages can hear. I can still hear the 30 and under one, but I can't hear the 24 and under one!!

I can hear them all. I have sensitive ears. I am convinced men have a narrow range for sounds (makes sense, as their own voices are lower frequency.)

I can only hear the 49 and under and the 60 and under. My ears must be older than the rest of my body.

Weird. I can hear the 24 and younger (barely) but not the 30 and younger.

This is not making me feel better about my poor stereocilia.

I can't hear the 24 and younger. I suppose that's a reasonable margin of error.

I can't hear the under 30 one (or 24)! I'm surprised; I'm 26 and I had a hearing test about three years ago that was looking good. Oh well.

There's also a tone like this that plays continuously from the civic center near by, I wonder if that's what it is.

Okay, scratch that, I can hear the under 30 one, just barely.

I think something fishy is going on. I can now hear all of them. Did my ears clear up in the last five minutes?

Did it get quieter in your surroundings or something maybe? I definitely can't hear the under 24, and I can really only barely hear the under 30 one, which makes sense seeing as how I'm turning 30 in one week!!

Speaking of fun ear-related activities, I just did this to myself and it was pretty cool: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caloric_reflex_test
Although I don't actually recommend trying it unless you feel like having vertigo for the next 30-60 minutes...

I could only hear the "everyone" one, 39 and younger, and 49 and younger. I could hear 60, 30, or 24. SO WEIRD. I think I did this test when I was about 15 and couldn't hear it, either. :(

I couldn't hear the 24 and under, but could hear the rest. Marx couldn't hear the 30 and under. (We're both 25.) Interesting.

I could hear all of the, but the 24 and under I could only hear for a split second before it went silent. And I'm 29.
