Doorbell ditching

Post by Giovanni Schwartz »

It's ten o'clock at night guys. Seriously?

I'm glad I never had any "friends" who wanted to doorbell ditch me.

Three questions:

1) Did you ever doorbell ditch people regularly as a form of entertainment?
2) At any point in your life, would you consider your family regularly doorbell ditched?
3) Do you now consider doorbell ditching a worth past time?

no, no, no. Doorbell ditching is just rude, unless you're leaving some kind of anonymous gift.

Doorbell ditching is for leaving cookies. Who doesn't like cookies?

What about a half eaten donut? That's what we got tonight.

I've never done it and never would (unless leaving something), but I don't think I would be too annoyed at a half-eaten donut. That's kind of funny. :) I would be annoyed if no one and nothing was there at all.

In one of my BYU wards, my bishop went around the apartment complex doorbell ditching (and not leaving anything at the door) one night. That was kind of a strange ward.

I think I did a couple of times when I was about ten ... Pretty dumb thing to do even at that age.

I put it in the same category as toilet papering and egging, except slightly less malicious. And if you left nice things, it would be good.

So, is leaving treats included in the survey? Or is that just asking if you rang the bell and ran with nothing left behind?

I'm not sure that my answer would change, since I can't run fast enough to get away anyway, but I'm just curious. I have no problem with the idea of leaving treats anonymously.

No treats involved. Unless you count a half-eaten donut on our doormat.
