Art, Asset or Investment?

After I read this question, I typed "Is art an asset or an investment?" into Google and the first result was this Forbes article. The contributor Kathryn Tully kind of plays both sides, acknowledging " Its aesthetic, cultural or historical value can be limitless." But the last three paragraphs seem to make it clear how art is viewed by this Forbes contributor. "So how do you get your hands on the 10% of art that might be worth more one day..." I just wonder what's the ratio of people buying more for their wall and care less for their portfolio or more for their financial portfolio and care less for their wall.
