Mod edit: Question 73245
Excellent answer by Rating Pending, particularly in regard to Patriarchal Blessings.
The Blessing does not spell out all of your possibilities or potential blessings. The referenced articles are helpful.
I'm sure "sad" is capable of doing many great and wonderful things if she prayerfully goes after them.

speaking of patriarchal blessings, I recently learned that you can order copies of deceased direct ancestors' blessings online! I think you have to know the patriarch's name and the stake it happened in though...

Whistler, you don't need that much info. I'm pretty sure I only had names and how I'm related to them.
It doesn't matter what happened to get you to today, beyond shaping your understanding. What really matters is where you go from here.

I just found out about this a couple of months ago. You have to be registered on LDS.org, but you just need your membership number and confirmation date for that. When you go to www.lds.org one of the options in the sign in is to ask for a patriarchal blessing. You need the full name of the person, the birth date, and the full names of the parents. It is helpful but not necessary to put the patriarch's name and stake and approximate time of the blessing.
I tried this for my mother and they said they couldn't find her blessing. I don't know why.

Now I wish I had some Mormon ancestors so I could get their patriarchal blessings.
