I just finished reading "The Magus" by John Fowles. Have any of you read it? It was... so strange!

I finally finished reading the unabridged version of Les Miserables last week! It's kinda weird not toting that big ol' book around anymore.

Thanks Whistler! It's an amazing story, with occasional bouts of (not nearly as interesting) history. I may have to read it again sometime. :)

A great study from 2009 of interfaith relations offering insight into the state of relations between people of different religions around the world, and in-depth analysis of Muslim integration in France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Guys. I'm incredibly embarrassed to admit it, but there's something about Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines that fascinates me. I'm currently listening to it for the third time today.
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

The Other F Word, which I really liked, but I can't recommend it most of my friends because of the language.

It's misogynist as hell, but musically there's something intoxicating about it. I kind of hate myself for liking it.

Saw an autographed copy of Without a Summer, and had to get it. This was my favorite in the series.

For Tally: there is a Doctor Who cameo in every one of these books!

My favorite "Blurred Lines" article. Includes the subheadings:
I’m worried about that baby goat.

No one told the one model how to realistically play the banjo.

He was eating ice cream and offered her none.

J. K. Rowling's pseudonymous detective novel The Cuckoo's Calling (by Robert Galbraith) is surprisingly very good (surprising because I didn't like her other 'adult' novel, The Casual Vacancy, so I assumed I would dislike this book as well). I highly recommend it, even if detective fiction isn't your usual thing (it's not my usual thing).

This slightly old article from Psychology Today about failure, anxiety, and college students was really interesting. If alcohol is the big thing at other campuses I wonder what thing is serving that function at BYU.

So, in a fit of boredom I googled "the board" and found this film. I think the actual 100 hour board could probably produce something of better quality, to be honest.

p.s. The 100 hour board was result #2

I keep reading articles on modesty that people (mostly Whistler) keep commenting on.

Links? Or is this the youth ministry lady with the shirtless muscle sons? Or the By Common Consent article about the girls camp where the girls had to wear shirts and knee-length shorts over their swimsuits, while in the pool? How has this become such a thing lately? It's like people have lost their brains...

While we're objectifying people, this was a funny post in honor of World Beard Day (which apparently was this past Saturday). I hope Marduk & any other bearded boardies celebrated appropriately and sexy modest and all that.

Wowza. Godfrey Gao is hot.

I thought it was interesting that most men had such a clear majority (most 70%+). Only Edward Sparklepants was at a dead heat at press time
