I didn't think you could have a function inside of a stake building without a member of the priesthood there. Well, some stakes/bishops set that up anyways. It isn't actually policy.

Maybe it's them employing the buddy system so Pres. Eyring wasn't left alone with a bunch of women.

Which brings up the question of why there was a male speaker when there are no female speakers at the priesthood session.

Same thing at the local level - a man was present and stayed for the whole broadcast at my building. Why? To set up the projector? To watch us? To preside over us? I don't know. In any case I'm going to ask that more/any women in the ward be trained on how to use all of our AV equipment. It seems silly that we always have men coming and setting those things up for all of our ward functions.

From what I've heard of the priesthood session, they don't even allow female camera operators/technicians/etc. in the building, so it is really really silly that they would both cast out all women for that meeting and then require there to be men for the other.

This is not us, but this is what we're singing Tuesday for the Chrism Mass. It's my favorite Agnus Dei and I want it sung at my wedding (assuming I have one).

I did this in my class! I had an inspirational thought in my head, so I wrote it on the board in my classroom and then put quotes around it. Mwahaha.

Like calling real things "so-called."

Also, why do they sing the scriptures? It's really pretty and cool sounding. Is there significance or symbolism? Or is it mostly just tradition?

I'm supposed to be defending my dissertation in, like, six weeks. I still have 2.5 chapters to write. What did I spend most of this day doing? Dithering around about whether I wanted the red lines in my figures to be cranberry or maroon and how thick the lines should be.
