Um... does anybody know how much postage to put on a letter to Canada? :) I have some 94 cent stamps... think one of those would do it?
I think so. Yay! Thank you! :)

So I started listening to polka music yesterday, and I think my husband was just about ready to kill me. Heh heh.

Arrrg my mother is partaking in her holiday tradition of watching terrible, terrible Christmas movies and I'm stuck in the living room. If I have hearing loss after today, you'll know it's because I had my headphones on and the music turned up way too high today.

I just found out that a professor with whom I've had the entire past semester also taught my dad.

Isn't it pretty standard to have a professor for an entire semester?

Unless you drop or add mid-semester, yes. I think the idea was to add emphasis.

Yes.

Right. Like, she's had him for the whole semester, and she only just found this out.

Does anyone else listen to the Paul Winter Consortium concert celebrating the Winter Solstice on NPR? This is my second year and I like it so much I am contemplating being in NYC on the inter solstice one year so I can go to it. If you dislike soprano saxophones though you won't like it.

Even though my mom usually doesn't let the kids do it, today she let my brother play one of those electronic mall games that no one ever wins. On the one dollar she gave him, he won an iTouch--which my mom was planning on giving him for Christmas. The little stinkpot...

I was awakened by my mother at 4:30 this morning to go Christmas shopping. We're back now, obviously, but we're going to leave again in about 15 minutes to hit the Bookstore. So... much... shopping...

I . . . gained a new appreciation for pioneers last night. Our snowmobile died 1/3 mile from destination, and so I had to walk up the hill with my two toddlers in three feet of snow. All I could think about the whole way was how the kids didn't have their snow boots or even gloves on, and it made me want to cry because I could only carry them so much. And then I would think about how pioneers didn't always have shoes for their kids. Or warm, dry cabins 1/3 mile away. I'm just glad it was warm enough that we didn't get frostbite (though, technically, if the snow was frozen instead of warm slush the snowmobiles would have zipped right over it).

Rats. Yesterday was International Haiku Day (I put a reminder on my phone and everything) and I still forgot about it.

Also I should go shopping, but I hate it. Maybe if my mom goes shopping she'll let me go with her.

Singing along with The Messiah while making chocolate raspberry brownies ... surely one of the best possible ways to spend Christmas Eve morning.

*gasp* Chocolate raspberry brownies?? If only my mother wasn't already making bread and popcorn balls and t-shirts in the kitchen...

*gasp* The Messiah? That's certainly the pinnacle of Christmas music, and my favorite.
