I just finished "Son of Neptune" by Rick Riordan, and it was faaaaaaaantastic! but, I'm SO MAD that the next book doesn't come out until NEXT fall!!

Finally started listening to "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking. Decided to listen to it while I exercise since I don't have time during the rest of the day. Thanks NerdGirl for the recommendation!

I just finished watching Chariots of Fire while I work out on the treadmill (yes, I intentionally chose a running movie!) It's such an inspiring movie-- I never get tired of watching it. I'm always amazed how few people have seen it.

Ex Libris by Anne Fadiman. It's a delightful collection of short non-fiction about books and other literary matters, including compulsive proofreading and expedition literature. You should read it. Seriously.

Have you seen the first anime? Though most fans consider it "not as good" as Brotherhood, I think that you get to know the characters better since Brotherhood flies through storylines covered in the first one. You certainly don't get to hate Mr. Tucker as much if you only see the second...man, that guy gives me the bajeebies.

I watched a few episodes of the first one, but the files were old/corrupted and would freeze in the middle sometimes, so I haven't watched the whole thing; considering just watching brotherhood.

I'm currently downloading the audiobook for The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. I've been craving a re-read of it lately, and have also been thinking that I needed a new audiobook. This seemed a great way to fulfill both needs. Also, maybe I can convince people who are too scared to read the whole thing to listen to the whole thing now.

Dream: Someday audiobooks will be cheaper than the price of the hardback book.

I read Variant by Robison Wells a couple days ago. It's good, but I didn't realize there would be a cliffhanger at the end.

I bought Variant last week, but I haven't read it yet. (And, to be honest, may not read it in the near future.)

Just saw Christmas Around the World. Very awesome. And the Israeli song my roommate danced to is going to be stuck in my head all night.

I actually just finished reading all of the Percy Jackson books, including Son of Poseidon. Watched Up, in Spanish and English (a great movie!) and Cars 2 (I thought it was fun. ) Still in catchup mode.

Hey, I just watched Cars 2 too! I am weird in that I liked it. It wasn't perfect, but it was fun. (dare I admit I preferred it to Toy Story 3?)

Rick Riordan is super awesome. My friend's grandmother was his English teacher. He dedicated the 5th Percy Jackson book to her.

I'm currently reading "Widows" by Ariel Dorfman. I saw it as a play when I lived in New York and have been reading to read the book since then, but I gotta say I'm not finding the book as interesting as the play.

We took Dragon Baby to Arthur Christmas over Thanksgiving break. It was her first in-theater movie and she did really, really well. Yellow and I really loved the movie. It takes all the questions kids everywhere ask about the technicalities of Christmas and addresses them. (Take that, guy in my last ward who got up at the ward Christmas party and, with all the kids sitting up front, read a paper that explains why Santa is logically impossible.) It's a very magic-of-Christmas movie. And it's adorable. It's fun for kids and adults alike. But it doesn't make crude jokes to make adults laugh. It just makes jokes that play off of things that kids simply haven't had time to learn yet. Definitely buying this movie when it comes out.
