Yes. Not listening to Pink. Ever.

(Unless, of course, "Pink" is your shorthand for Pink Floyd, then I totally approve.)

It's funny that "neon green" is an adjective that I've seen used far more than any signage actually using neon green, if at all.

I usually use "lime green."

My baby just opened Internet Explorer. I have no clue how or why.

They say kids are better than adults at adapting to technology...

Oh, wait. Internet Explorer. Never mind.

Apparently the house behind mine was just torn down. Like an hour ago. And I wasn't there to watch. : (

(Also this means the mall is one step closer to taking over...)

Everyone who lives in Provo better take advantage of the MOA (best art museum in the state in my opinion, though I have friends who would contend strongly for the museum in Ephraim). Those who have meal plans better REALLY take advantage of the MOA café.

I went to the Islamic art exhibition with my parents the week before classes started. It was amazing.

In case you are wondering, Cisco technical support absolutely sucks, worse than any support that I've ever used.

"Oh, you're not having problems with any of the things that I just thought you were having problems with? It's OBVIOUSLY the fault of your printer and EVERY COMPUTER ON YOUR NETWORK HAVING THE SAME WRONG SETTINGS. Yes, all 4 of them. And the 3 cell phones. And the 2 tablets. And the printer that originally brought your call to us."

"The reason I called you is because the printer AND the computer support websites both directed me to call you."

"Umm... Well... It's still their problem and not ours. Deal."

"I hate you."

And the problem is resolved by giving the router a hard shut down by unplugging it straight from the back, and then plugging it back in.

But lest ye be confused, the internet told me that answer, not the useless Cisco girl. (And it was only the internet VEEEEEERY deep in, like "6 hours of searching by one proficient in computers and the internet" searching deep.)

Serious question. I have the good fortune to be good-looking, and have been considering modeling. However, I don't want to be the female Chad Hardy. Would I have to appear sporting a parka? (I'm guessing not, considering what BYU art class models wear.) Does it depend on the intended use - are swimsuit photos for JCPenney okay but not kosher on a calendar? I don't want the full wrath of the HCO and the BYU registrars to come find me. Anyone have experience? Unlike Mr. Hardy, this would have nothing to do with the Church.

I'm going to try to catch the exhibit tomorrow during a rare foray to Provo tomorrow! HOORAY. Andy Warhol too - seriously legit exhibits.

I was under the impression that you were no longer at BYU. Also, that you weren't on a mission. Also, that you didn't play up your "mormon-ness." If all of these are true, it really doesn't matter what you do, there's little chance of any blowback.

I saw something like this on Mythbusters and thought it was neat enough that I bought a strong little neodymium magnet at Hobby Lobby and some narrow copper tubing at Lowe's. Copper's not magnetic enough that the magnet immediately sticks to it when you let go of the magnet near the top of the tube, but once the magnet starts moving, the moving magnetic field generates a small current in the tube, which current causes an opposite-poled magnetic field that attracts the magnet just enough to make it fall through the tube eerily slowly. It was worth a couple of bucks to see, and my daughter was surprised when the magnet took so long to come out the bottom of the tube. :)

I asked two questions today, first ones since retiring. :) So exciting, and kind of a good way to distract oneself from other "real-life" issues. ^_-

I love that demonstration. It's one of my favorite physics demos, and the great thing is that (like you said) it's cheap and simple to do. :)

I was bored, and that's the kind of thing I do when I'm bored. I heard good things about it, plus I know Django uses python and the Board uses django, so I thought it would be cool to maybe someday be good enough to have some idea of what's going on there.

After over a year of the nearest bookstore being over 40 miles away after Borders went bankrupt, I just today noticed that the old Borders building was being renovated and Barnes and Noble signage being put up. It will be nice to have a bookstore to walk around in on a Saturday afternoon again.
