DITTO, Katya. Marduk's introduced me to so many great movies that have an R rating that I'm so glad I watched, but there's no way I'm going to show them to kids.

There are also lots of kid's shows I wouldn't let my kids watch, but that's another conversation.

Eh... I didn't mean to make that assumption, and I based it off my own shaky anecdotal experience. A few of my LDS friends growing up had parents who watched R-rated movies and often watched them during the day in public places in front of us kids while we played. They often even invited us in to watch them, and let me tell you, these weren't the good r-rated movies with educational benefit. They were not good and I just remember that in a lot of those homes, we were exposed to them a lot, despite one parent being against it. I did make that inherent assumption that parents who watch R-rated movies will somehow expose those movies to their children, but I realize upon further reflection that it's a gross generalization.

Fair enough. (I wasn't calling you out, btw; I had the original question-asker in mind.) And since I haven't had much experience with friends of the watch-anything-and-everything type, it's good to be reminded that they're not just figments of someone's imagination.

Not respectful of manhood. See this.
Bad mother. See this.
Mistreats servants. As did Countess Elizabeth Barthoy.
Bad Supervisor.
Bad Cook.
Not good with finances.
Bad friends.

It's been a while since I had to watch any children's programming (yay for 2-year anniversary of moving out of my parents' house!), plus by the time I have kids I expect any shows I am familiar with will be off the air, so I'll give my general rule: anything that makes my brain leak out my ears is not welcome in my house, no matter who its target audience is.

I'll elaborate. We (and I mostly mean I, but Yellow stands by my decision) do not allow Spongebob, Bratz (oh my goodness, NEVER), nor ... oh man. Now I don't remember the name of it. But it feels like that Teletubbies (also disallowed) for toddlers. And it's so popular. And it makes me want to tear my hair out. I'm on the brink of banning, or at least limiting, Powerpuff girls.

Anything that makes me think my IQ is dropping, is ridiculously immodest/immoral, or gives my kids ideas of things to do that are not acceptable in my home will be banned. Period.

It was all a joke. I think if you followed the links (with one exception) to each of my deal breakers you would see how what I said refers to a female mass murderer. There was a tie in with what I said with the way or the reason they killed people.
