Um, so, craziest night of my year so far- I just had a kind-of DTR and kind of got dumped, but I wasn't actually dating anybody . . .but I still cried. Ayah. And now I can't sleep.

I'm sorry. I've had that happen before.

No fun. May I recommend screaming and hollering (preferably obscenities) while beating the wall with pillows?

Ha! Good suggestion, Emiliana! I actually just got a lot of solace out of a three-hour choir rehearsal.
Also, men, please make sure that you clarify when you are asking someone out on a date. The guy in question apparently thought he had asked me out several time. But I do not remember a single (no pun intended) phone call where he asked me if I'd like to go on a date with him. Even without actually using the word "date."

Hey Mico! I drove past you today!
Very cute green helmet, by the way.

Haha, thaaanks.

I always think people might mistake me for a 12-year old skater boy with that helmet, but I just love the greenness.

Wait, so how did he eventually wind up semi-breaking-up-with you? Sigh. Relationships and non-relationships are so complicated.
Ooh, yes, choir practices are perhaps a more constructive way of dealing with these things. (I have my first "choir" practice at my new church tomorrow. "Choir" is in quotes because there are only three of us, plus the organist, and I'm not entirely sure that constitutes a choir. But I'm still excited. It's been awhile since I've been in any sort of singing group, and I'm looking forward to it.)

I think it's neat that one of this year's Nobel Prize winners in medicine, immunologist Ralph Steinman, actually applied his own research to himself to extend his own life. It's too bad that he actually died a few days before the Nobel committee announced his winning, but nice that they still awarded it despite their policy of not awarding it posthumously.

I heard that the reason they still awarded it to him was because they didn't know he had died. They unknowingly broke their own policy.

Right. They thought he was still alive when they made the announcement, so they decided to award it to him anyway because they had made the announcement "in good faith."

We're having another girl. We both really, really wanted a boy and I have to admit I cried as soon as we left the ultrasound room. Deep breath . . .

This thread is longer than the
last two random threads combined. It's even longer than
Random Thread V. Should we consider starting a new one?

I was going to give it another month. Or maybe a month and a half, to give it a full year. I've noted its length, though.
