I want a version that's full-screen sized, instead of that little window. Exploring it would be worlds faster that way.

Agreed. Also, I would be asleep right now if I hadn't overheard my roommate telling someone else about it. I wonder how long it will be until fans have pieced together the whole thing.

It just showed up in my Twitter feed. (And it might have been created after yours, anyway.)

So my best friend recently moved about an hour and a half away from her boyfriend, and she keeps complaining to me about how hard the long-distance is. They are having a genuinely hard time and I feel bad for her, but at the same time there's a part of me that's like, "You see each other every weekend, and you can text, call, skype, facebook, and email as often as you want. Come on." So I feel awkward because I don't really know how to offer sympathy. Especially because if I just say something like, "Oh yeah, long distance is really hard," she always replies with, "So how are you and [missionary] doing?" and the only honest reply to that is, "Really fantastic," which just seems to make her feel worse that they're not handling it as well.
Sometimes I wish all my communication with people was via letters with a week or two of delay.

I totally installed Windows 8 this morning. It makes me feel cutting edge. Gotta love free software through your school!

Yes, that would be nice! Also, good luck. It sounds like you're doing a good job, though, being sympathetic without making her feel bad or anything. That's great your relationship is going so smoothly!

I love fixing bicycles. Is it bad that I actually find that more fulfilling than all of my classes combined right now?

No, because it means I may have a functioning bike soon.

I'm teaching a lesson on the dangers of comparing yourself to others and of (extreme) competition to my 10th grade English classes tomorrow. I went on over to
http://embodyed.blogspot.com/ (which I believe I found when Katya linked to it on here!) to get some real-life material. I was scrolling along, looking for one of Dana's posts, when I came across a picture obviously taken at my high school. During my senior year. I scrolled back up, and found that it was written by a kid who everyone loved. He was handsome and smart and funny and always happy and made you feel like the coolest person in the world, because he was always glad to see you. And he was also anorexic, and I would never have guessed. Happily, it sounds like he's coming from a healthier place, now.
And maybe it's terrible, but what a perfect addition to my lesson. That 1. boys can get eating disorders too, and 2. that it can be the popular kids, and no one would ever guess.

You need to read
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

Concealocanth told me exactly the same thing about two hours ago. In the mouths of two or three witnesses...

If I hadn't met you, I would say you were my best friend from freshman year. He would always say that to me.
