True. I ask thee forgiveness of the slight that I have committed, oh master of building hoppers. I'd say it won't happen again, but we all know that simply stating that is foolishness in and of itself, as I utter such idiocies on a regular basis.

And Giovanni, that is all you have, one piece of communication with SWKT? I don't know who werf is yet and yet our communication is far... more interesting. Come now, you're dropping the ball.

Congratulations! That is very impressive.

Those of you who have already gone on to grad school, would you say it's worth taking the GRE in addition to another similar test (in my case, the LSAT), if you don't have your heart set on one graduate program/not sure which program you could get into?

If you're really not sure, then go ahead and do it. The GRE is like a glorified ACT in my opinion, and the general test at least is nothing to be scared of. When I was applying to grad programs, the general feel I got (for my area, at least) is that as long as you don't have a poor GRE score, it won't be used either for or against your admission- you just have to have a score. So if you have the money on hand and think you might use the test, go for it.

And in that vein, I'm walking at graduation this week but I'm not actually graduating quite yet. I feel so anticlimactic . . . and yet there's no way I'm coming back in April to wear the funny looking outfit that's now hanging in my closet . . .

Yeah, I think I am just going to have to unceremoniously depart from BYU. I'm too busy now to walk, and with any luck, I will be far, far away from Provo in April.

Do you think it would just be too much craziness with Christmas to try to have a graduation in December? Maybe we can make like the Cheney protesters and have an alternate graduation. ;)

I was going to work graduation, but for some reason I thought it was in September and didn't sign up.

So all I have to be worried about (at the moment) is Education week. And that novel. And, if things go properly, probably some more stuff soon. Oh, yeah, and when my grant money is going to come so I can pay for school.

Aye, Portia, while I am not a grad student, I'd say go ahead and take it if it isn't going to be overly stressful. The cost is bothersome, but in the end negligible, and the results can only be beneficial for you. I took the practice GRE on a whim one day a while back and doubt there would be anything on there that would give you any trouble. The subject ones were considerably more difficult, but still not outstandingly so. (Like Wisteria said, much more like the ACT than, say, an AP exam). Look into it and how it applies to your situation, but for my 2 cents, I'd say shoot for the moon.

I know, right? I just looked, and apparently they decided to use some of my scholarship money to pay for some student health care plan I never signed up for. I hope they give me my money back. Otherwise I'll have to steal 200 bucks worth of stuff from campus to come out even. I'm thinkin library books, toilet paper, and ketchup packets from the Cougareat.

They've signed me up for student health plans before, but I've always been able to change it.

I'm still trying to figure out why I'm being charged ten dollars more than the website claims I should for the health plan. And thankful I finally got my grant straightened out. Three years in a row being randomly selected for verification gets rather annoying. And I really didn't like having to take a day off of work to call the finacial aid office to find out what was wrong with my application, only to be told nothing was actually wrong with it.
