My boyfriend was born in the USSR, and he is a pretty sweet result of communism.

This is an excellent point. I actually say that a lot. One of my favorites of late was "In Communist Russia your thesis defends you!"

Snowclones do not specifically refer to Russian reversal jokes, but I guess they are included in that broader category.

I always thought the Communist anecdote, " the party will shoot you and charge your family for the bullet" interesting.
