Re: Encore - Feed the Childrens
Last night I was going through "Sing With Me," the old Primary songbook, and I came across this gem called the Jolly Switzer:
I'm a gay tra, la, la, With my fa, la, la la, And my bright, and my gay tra, la, lee;
Then a laugh, ha, ha, ha, ha, And a ring, ting, ting, ling; And a sing, fa, la, la, la, la, lee.
I don't think it has 8 consecutive nonsense words, so it wouldn't work. But it seemed very timely.
My real song is:
"Woah In the longest line. Woah In the longest
If I'd known my ID card was lost . . ."
-In the Longest Line

Camptown racetrack's five miles long, oh de doo dah day. Gonna run all night...
"Camptown Races"
(Okay, looking it up now, the proper dialect would either be "goin' to" or "gwine to" since it's supposed to be all Mock African American, but I call close enough.)

Katya, just out of curiosity, did you learn "Mairzy Doats" and "The Name Game" from the same place?

Re: Encore - Feed the Childrens
Nope. I learned "Mairzy Doats" for a class program in elementary school and I don't know how I learned "The Name Game." (I remember it from an episode of Dinosaurs, but I think I was aware of it before then.)Dead Cat wrote:Katya, just out of curiosity, did you learn "Mairzy Doats" and "The Name Game" from the same place?
