Myst was particularly challenging for me because our computer didn't have a sound card. We still had fun with it... but some of the puzzles were completely impossible.

Yeah, Selentic is pretty much impossible to beat if you can't hear anything. So is Riven. And Haven. But Spire was exceptionally difficult the first time around because my graphics card wasn't good enough. I gave up on Myst IV for a really long time until I finally got around to installing it on another computer ("really long time"=I finished IV after I finished Myst V--which I do not advise anyone to do).

I started to play Riven and then I realized I did not have the patience to complete it.

HA. I play a similar game here in East Africa. A lot of the kids' English is limited to, "Mzungu [white person] how are you!" I answer, "Fine, how are you?" and they answer, "Fine, how are you?" This can continue indefinitely.

I am babysitting my nephew via video chat while my sister goes to get my niece from preschool.

(Don't worry, he is asleep and she'll only be gone like 5 minutes.)

My grandson was born on Friday. Does anyone know if krebscout had her baby yet? Or the Claudios?

The Claudios are going in tomorrow for a c-section, and Waldorf thought she was in labor yesterday and I haven't seen her online since. So I imagine she's either still in labor or had the baby.

I think I'm at liberty to disclose these details.

Last night I dreamed I was in the lab with Wisteria. We were helping some new kids do an experiment.

No matter how good they start, lab dreams are always nightmares.

Baby girl (I like "Maleficent," though I don't know what Sauron will use as her Board nickname) came out nice and healthy yesterday at 8:02 pm. She was 8 lbs. 8.3 ounces, 22 inches long (that's long. 4 inches longer than her brother. We're pretty sure he was measured wrong, but still...tall girl), and 9 days late. And she passed her hearing test! All of our kids have a 1 in 4 chance of having hearing loss, but it appears this one got away without it.

She's gorgeous. Thanks for asking, guys.

For the record, the Claudio's baby is also adorable, healthy, and big: 8 pounds, 14 ounces. Mrs. Claudio is also doing well. I feel bad stealing Claudio's thunder making this announcement, but (1) he doesn't hang around here much these days so he wouldn't do it, and (2) I'll never have kids, so making this announcement might be the closest I ever get to making a real baby announcement.

So, were both babies born the same day?

My grandson was born a little jaunticed. He was rather small at 6 lbs. 2 oz and 19.5 inches long.
