My brother's dog got out of the gate for the hundredth time or something, and mom and others had to run around to work and school and the rest of us were still sleeping. So he ran into the neighbor's yard and killed a chicken. We are in trouble.

Our neighbor's dogs used to get out at night and kill our calves. But I suppose that's what happens when you buy part wolves then leave them tied up for days and forget to feed them. I'm not sure the boy my age ever forgave me because my dad shot his dog in the middle of the night to protect our calves. The boy's reasoning for hating me? "She was White Fang's granddaughter." Uhhh… fiction, kiddo.

That guy quoted D&C 42:18, not 18:42.
I'll be honest . . . I'm a bit embarrassed anyone has paid him any attention. Sometimes we Mormons tend to get a bit militant when it comes to defending the Church, and when it's done online it doesn't look good. I've read enough comments on the Deseret News website to be convinced that everyone sounds like a moron, even when I agree with their point of view.

Ha, today in the religion section of the library two old ladies had the student librarian cornered. From the snippets I caught of their conversation, they were trying to convince her that the Salt Lake Tribune is of the devil, only "iffy" members read it, and that anything it writes is the blackest of lies. Poor girl.

One of my church history professors was actually talking about the Salt Lake Tribune in class once...I guess it used to be run by people who were definitely anti-Mormons. He said it's cleaned up a lot in recent years, but it sounds like it used to be pretty bad.

Well obviously. The BYU library only subscribes to the Trib as part of its extensive collection of anti-Mormon literature.

Guys. I am so excited about budgeting. I have no idea how my projections are going to hold up, but it is exciting to actually make decisions about where my money is going. In college, my budget was basically

10% tithing
15% food
35% rent
40% school/tuition

I felt guilty for every haircut or trip to the movies.

This is SOOOOO much better.

I know how that is. Today is only the second day this week that I've been functional, and I can tell already that going to every class is going to be overexerting myself. Being sick sucks.

There is one benefit to being sick...I let myself indulge on hot apple cider! YUM!

So, completely different topic for a second here: Is anyone else devastated by the loss of Seriously, So Blessed? Because I am.

I am just hoping it's not for real. But if it is, then I am devastated.

Mmm, I feel like it's run its course and I'd rather she quit while she's ahead than drag it out forever. I'm curious to know how much money she made off of the site, though.

I'm really curious if it is for real! I agree that the joke has gotten a bit old, but . . . dang, I still love reading it. Here's hoping she comes back with another "jay kay!" soon.

I'm pretty sure we have more than 12 active people here. Is the poll just too difficult or what? Either way, I'm going to go ahead and post the link again with a reminder that Best of Year exists, and hope that everyone participates! *crosses fingers*

In other news, crazy snow traffic today. I couldn't believe how long it took to get to work.
