Fruit haters on here, veg haters on the Board. Weird. About the only ones I don't like are beets and olives.

Pretty much just tomatoes for me. Though I haven't attempted to eat beets for a while, so I can't really comment on them anymore.

I thought Bachmann's statement that she'd bring back $2-per-gallon gas was an extreme example of a politician making impossible promises, but I just learned that Gingrich told some people in Florida that he'd have an American colony on the moon within eight years if elected.

JUST tomatoes?! Tomatoes are one of the staples of most western foods! If you don't like tomatoes, there go dozens of sauces, coulis, salsas, ketchup, etc.

Or is it just fresh tomatoes? Even still that kicks a lot of foods out.

Also, if it is just fresh tomatoes, does it make a difference to you if they are garden tomatoes or store-bought?

I saw a complaint about president Obama the other day, citing all sorts of figures comparing today to his election day (debt, jobless numbers, etc.) and one of the figures was gas prices.

Convenient, I thought, that they didn't point out that six months BEFORE his election, it was double what it was on his election.

Well, okay. Yes, it is just fresh tomatoes. Even though I can eat them if they are mostly disguised by stronger flavors. I just do not like them. At all. They honestly make me feel sick. I tried a little cherry tomato a few years ago because everyone was telling me how great they tasted. I almost threw up. And I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth for a full day.

And no, it doesn't matter if they are store bought or home grown. My parents have always grown a ton of tomatoes, and just thinking of them is making me feel ill. (Well, that, or the not-so-great 7 layer burrito I just ate. . .)

I do love salsa though. In the short time that I was living with my parents recently, I singlehandedly ate at least three jars of salsa. So good!

It is funny Fred, tomatoes are probably one of my all-time favorite foods. As a cook, I love them because they are so darn versatile. And they are very healthy for you. Seriously, when tomatoes are in season is probably my favorite time of year. I eat them like apples. (Which isn't really true; I rarely eat apples fresh. So I eat them like most people eat apples.) I could understand not liking store-bought tomatoes (which are actually very significantly chemically different than actual ripe tomatoes; they are essentially green tomatoes that have been gassed) since they quite simply don't taste the same as ones that have been allowed to ripen naturally.

When I think about it, there is not really any natural (as opposed to prepared) food which I dislike.

Hah. "Beware the ides of March?" More like "Beware the ides of February!" That is the kind of advice that men need in these days.

My boyfriend last year dumped me two days before Valentine's Day. I'd made him a little bag of candy (we were about the stage of the relationship where the most I expected was flowers), but I ended up keeping it and eating it myself over the next month or so!

I think a good rule of thumb is that if you're in a relationship, you get her a little something (doesn't have to be big...but don't ask me, I've never had a Valentine). If you're only pursuing her, have something ready that could easily be explained away as something you give all your friends that are girls, like a silly valentine and a piece of chocolate.

Anyone else have opinions on this? Wait, Fredji didn't even ask for opinions. Well, I just gave him one.

I have tried natto. I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't exactly call it "natural."

I have not tried durian, although I'm extremely intrigued now.
