I'm convinced that getting educated about anything will make you love it.

I didn't really understand modern art until I started studying post-modernism in literature.

Well thank you! That makes me feel better about a day in which the train pulled away from me (twice), I threw up a bunch of soda due to nerves, and my presentation didn't save in the cloud. (Miraculously, I had emailed a backup file to my boyfriend.) If one must have a breakdown, look good doing it! :)

Ran into the rich, skinny mom brigade and their kids were getting legit pony rides. Surreal.

I'm so much happier when my colleague lets me proofread things before they go out to the world. Right now I'm proofing things that went out into the world last year without my input and I'm only consoled by telling myself that most people don't notice poor writing -- and at least I'm catching it this year, where it counts!

Today has been a good day for finding things. A couple of weeks ago I thought I lost one of my pearl earrings that my dad gave me that I was planning on wearing at my wedding. It was in my basketball shorts, which I had worn and washed at least once since I lost the earring. Mysterious.

I also found Pickles' favorite toy (the stuffed kitty mentioned here) in the couch cushions. That one is significantly less mysterious.

I love that Winco now sells bulk gluten-free flour. (and oats, and pastas!) So much cheaper than anything at Sprouts or Macey's.

After reading about the Great Tinder FroYo Hoax (seriously, Provo? The straight version of Grindr is what our dating scene is reduced to?), I had to check out the site. Totally obsessed with the featured names on the home page: Maddox, Trystan, Keleigh, and Zoey. Maddox didn't chart til '03, Trystan has barely snuck into the top 1000 off and on since '96, Keleigh is just made up (but its homonym Kaylee really took off after '97), and the cre8ively spelled Zoey was unheard of before '95 but is now #28. Twenty-eight!

These aren't dateable adults, this is an elementary school roll. Which I think tells you something about the website. Something skeevy about using a set of names better suited to 10- to 16-year-olds for a hookup app.

Also, who names their son a name with "tryst" in it? Very clever, creepy marketing department. Very clever.

wow, the guys who run the site and did the experiment deserve to have everyone mad at them and delete their accounts. That is such a rude thing to do to your userbase.

Isn't Keleigh a homonym for Kelly?

Also I don't think the people that run the site and the people that did the experiment are the same people.
