I got my nap, and the night was very productive. If I bust my little buns, I could be done by around 7 tonight and therefore get to sleep at a decent hour. Wish me luck!

Taxes. I am doing them. Four forms down, two or three to go. I think three. And the three are the ones where I actually owe money. And another one will be due after tomorrow. *sigh*

Yesterday I went hiking. I fell down, of course, and now I have a spectacular bruise that no one will ever see.

Man, my hair is looking great today. I'm surprised people aren't all over me about it.

That's good, because I just got the first one in the mail from amazon about two hours ago, and I wasn't too excited about it, but I figured people were talking about them so much that I'd better just read them before I accidentally find out the ending, and you just got me more excited about that. Especially the Clarissa Explains it All part, because I love that show!
Okay, so I finished reading the first one the day after I got and wow. All I can say is it's a good thing the bookstore at the mall didn't have the next two and I had to wait to order them on Amazon, or I would have gotten nothing done this week. And they are now scheduled to show up in my mailbox in approximately 8 minutes.

jealous. I'm waiting for Mockingjay to either come in at the library or my friend to finish reading it. I do believe that she'll finish before the 247 people ahead of me at the library.

I just came face to face with Lloyd Newell in the hall of the JSB. I may or may not have just had a slight freak out moment.

I am not reading Mockingjay, nor plan to, but I have rediscovered TV Tropes.

GAH! I hate restless leg syndrome so much right now. I just want to relax and I have to be constantly moving/banging my right foot. Maybe I need to go back on medication.

I want to read it so bad. I'm at 224 at the city library, 62 at the school library, and I need to ask around.

I know I feel this way mostly because I'm having a culture-stress day, but gah. It makes no sense to me that it's perfectly acceptable for anyone and everyone -- including the guest of honor -- to arrive at an event four hours late, but it was unspeakably rude that I had to leave an hour early.

You are right, Emiliana, people should be more reasonable. It doesn't make much sense to me, either.

Maybe you should have a good line to give to the host as you depart. You know, something like, "I know I arrived late, but I'll make up for it by leaving early." Or perhaps, if food was involved, "I hate to eat and run, but that is what this food does to me." Something tactful and clever like that.

Eh, I've lived here long enough that I should have been able to forestall the difficulties, but I didn't. What I should have done was told my friend in the morning, with many apologies and regrets, that I could only stay until two, and then left at three. Instead of letting her assume that I was going to stay until four (or whenever it actually did finish, which might have been considerably later), then leaving at three. Or maybe I should have sucked it up and stayed the whole time.

It was an end-of-school-year celebration for the Bible Society at my friend's school. It was supposed to be from 10am-4pm, but the main speaker had just arrived and hadn't even started speaking yet when I left at 3, so it could very well have gone on until 5 or 6. Rules of etiquette are just different in this part of the world...

I've been reading really old threads in Random Chatter. We used to be really strict about threads staying on topic.
