Well, I can skip to the end of the videos, but that doesn't really help, because I still don't know EXACTLY how they want their crap formatted. I could format it my own way, but it probably wouldn't be right enough for them.

I finally realized who it was! Peppermint Patty from Peanuts.
And now I feel stupid that it took me this long to realize that.
Why, thank you. This
week's Peanuts has been especially epic for my doppelgänger. "A miniature Leonard Bernstein." Ha!

I had the wonderful opportunity the other day to play a piano that has been played by Liszt, Rubenstein, Bartok, and Brahms.

Rachmaninoff gave a concert at BYU. I wonder if the piano he played on is still around.

Apparently there is such a thing as the "BYU Tall Club." Huh.

Even better, every club at BYU has to be open to every student, which means that the Tall Club has to admit short members.

I survived an entire week of school! I spent most of it feeling horribly inadequate and wondering how on earth I managed to get accepted into vocal performance. Also panicking, because I love to do that.

Congrats on your acceptance! Word to the wise: UVU is much more laissez-faire about finances than BYU, so plan accordingly. Unlike BYU, UVU will let you take out loans willy-nilly.
What track are you on?

Oops, I meant to post that on the Random thread.

I actually declined the offered loan without thinking about it, which was bad because I have no money (music majors are expensive) but okay because though a series of fortuitous events the Women's Success Center went ahead and bought my $500 worth of books so at least I have books even if I have no money.
What do you mean by track?

Glad to hear you got a book scholarship. Music majors are ill able to pay off loans in the best of times, so getting acquainted with being broke while a student will be less stressful later on.
What specialization are you pursuing? Opera singing, contemporary musical theater, pedagogy, and so on.

Bob, I totally love hearing about your new life as a music major! So exciting.
Now, since this is the random thread... I signed my first ever petition for some restaurant to get a liquor license like one block from where I live. It isn't even a public restaurant - it is inside of a somewhat fancy old folk's home. Nevertheless, they have to get permission from the nearby residents before opening *any* restaurant serving liquor. Pretty interesting.

Getting tipsy with the olds, huh? Warning: I bet they'll judge your drink choices.

I can't even go there! I don't understand why it had to be approved because it is literally only for the people who live there and their invited guests.
I'm sure they would judge my drink choices... I'm not very sophisticated.

Not 100% sure yet! When I auditioned the professor who heard me invited me to join his opera class, so I'll be doing that for at least one semester (probably more, it's a pretty cool class). Then it just depends on what my vocal coach and I decide is the best emphasis for me.
Personally I want to spend at least some time working on every discipline. I believe I have a fairly versatile voice.
