ugh, it's one thing when it's an entry-level class and people are slacking off, but quite another when a professor can't try having a little self-evaluation with such results. How did the one student pass the test? Maybe they had some outside help you could also solicit?

Me: Put away your phone, please, [student].
Student: But Miss, it's an emergency!
Me: You say that every day. Put it up, please.
Student: But I texted my friend, and he ALWAYS texts back right away, and he hasn't! I think something must be wrong!

ARGH! I've been knitting and reknitting a sweater. I'm so tired of it. I want to just sell the yarn, but I put it up on craigslist with no takers. Maybe I'll try again with a lower price. :P

Put it up on Ravelry, instead.

Dealing with a need-to-reinstall-Windows computer and having to do all homework on campus computers with half a dozen papers due in a week.

Try starting your computer with an Ubuntu live cd in the cd tray. Your OS is left all alone and you could likely still see your windows files on your hard drive and either save them off or use Ubuntu to do your work, like for example. Open Office writer instead of Word (it can open doc files).

I'm at the BYU-Wisconsin football game! Only my third BYU game ever. The atmosphere is awesome.

I actually have CrashPlan installed, so all of my documents are all alright.

I only ever got good grades when I did all my homework on campus computers. If anyone wants to pay homage to Portia, take the back and furthest right PC in the JFSB Humanities computer lab. You can see trees; it's great.

I'm just sentimentally attached to Holmes and don't really want to wipe his memory.

I went on a jog and came back with two books someone put by the recycling. Another reason to go jogging - finding books!

:'( I don't know, we'll see. They are The Lovely Bones and The Casual Vacancy, both of which seem to have been fairly popular when they came out.

THe Casual Vacancy was only popular because it was by JKR. A friend that read it said it was mediocre at best, and rather smutty.

Maybe I like smutty. ;) Just kidding, I generally don't. But hey, free books! I'll at least try them out.

I heard that The Casual Vacancy was decent in its own right and it's only a bonus it was written by JKR. You will have to read for yourself and tell us who's right. : )

Haha, okay I'll tell you! I'll probably read it over the Christmas break, so it will be a while.
