Nah, it's secret "C is for Creeper" stuff. At times when the site won't let anyone post, you and I have been the only ones online, and I've watched the "View unread posts" number go way up, so I know you're trying to post things, and when I click the unread posts link, it sends me to the topic you're currently discussing, but there's nothing there.

That's all. But all the extra attempted posts is what gives us the "No Posts Exist for this Topic" alert. The more people attempt to post, the more invisible posts are there.

I'm not sure when Fred deleted some posts, but it seems like I've noticed missing posts for a long time before he left.

I don't remember when he last pruned, but he first did it ages before he left. Even ages before he knew he was going. So it's been a while, yeah.

It is kind of interesting that if you delete your own post it reduces your post count.

See, and the part that still gets me is finding out there are admin boards the rest of us can't see. What, are you guys just gossiping about us behind our backs?

We only gossip about a couple of you! The rest of the time we're discussing our own love lives, planning ways to kill my siblings, and generally chatting.

Oh yeah, and we discuss things like new admins, new moderators, and new forums.

That's exactly it. Although I get the sense that some are the target of gossip more than others.

The gossip usually isn't good. I mean, not worthwhile. And usually it's shop-related anyway.

But if you're talking about our love lives, those, while occasionally dramatic, aren't really the best things to talk about on public fora.

This really, truly is the bulk of it.

For example, with the switch to a new forum pending, there is a lot of the technical side that would make no sense to people without admin privileges. It makes sense to have it there. If someone says "Oh, I didn't get around to doing that yet because I had a crazy weekend doing such-and-such," it's not really gossip, just explanation.

There is little-to-no discussion about specific users unless it is directly related to a thread in need of moderation or giving someone new responsibilities.

Don't feel like it is frivolously exclusive or gossipy. It is really mostly utilitarian.
