I think he needs another chance. I thought it was an easy question, so I doubt he was stumped.

Otherwise, yes, I think you won.
By the way, is that the answer you were looking for? Or did you have other theories on Voldemort becoming a ghost?
I want to actually talk to HM to see what his opinion is on that question posting without him and me or he being declared victor before I say what my answer would be.

Then why did it take 9 days to post, and even then he didn't answer the question?
(I think I know the answer to this question, FYI, but that's utterly beside the point.) Niffler answered questions (mostly) in the 100 hour limit. This was to see if Niffler or Humble Master was a better Board Harry Potter expert. Answering in 100 hours (or even 200 hours) is just part of the deal. And he failed.

Hey! I was going to post the link! Thief!

Yes, Humble Master, you have been voted off the island...unless he took the immunity pill.

Sorry! I typically wait for you. But this issue was too important. I had to bring it up. And to bring it up needed a link.

So is the actual question of Voldemort's ghost (or lack thereof) open to discussion now? Or are we still waiting on an answer from Humble Master?

I figure we can discuss it; it's pretty unlikely he'll look here and steal any theories we may have.
I personally don't think that he ever had even a choice to become a ghost. His soul was too fractured, the end.

From the "Make Your Own Horcrux Kit"*
"Warning! Making a Horcrux may have side effects which may include vomiting, sore throat, decreased ability to smell, fractured soul, forfeit of the right to become a ghost, uncontrollable belching, no friends, evil laughter, and allergies to scarecrows. Do not make a Horcrux if you have a history of being nice to people, heart disease, kidney failure, are nursing, pregnant, or may become pregnant, or have not yet killed anyone. We are not responsible for any destruction of a Horcrux caused by a Chosen One or their friends or enemies. Do not use more than once in 12 centuries."
Voldemort clearly did not read the box. It's his own fault.

@Dead Cat -- HA! I like it.
I agreed with the second part of Queen Alice's answer, but not the first. Voldemort certainly have been ashamed of losing to Harry, but that shame wouldn't be nearly as strong as his desire to return to life. Being defeated by a baby boy certainly wasn't enough to stop him. This is debatable, perhaps, but I think Voldemort's desire for immortality was even stronger than his other forms of pride. So either he couldn't return as a ghost because of the horcruxes, or perhaps he didn't want to for some other reason, but I don't think shame was it.

I disagreed with the answer given in Unofficial Question C (about the enchantments around Grimmauld Place)
http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/59696/
I submitted a comment, but it wasn't worth publishing, so I will state it here:
While the Trio lived in 12 Grimmauld Place, Death Eaters surrounded the place constantly. At the time they speculated that it was known as the HQ of the Order, but I think it quite as likely that they'd been alerted by the Taboo and were surrounding it waiting for a chance to capture them.
They couldn't get in (either because Snape lied and said he still couldn't get them in or because there were enchantments preventing Snape from doing so) because, primarily, of the Fidelius Charm that was still in place. The Order as a group was surely powerful and could make some great enchantments, but I think what really saved them was the Fidelius Charm, which couldn't be broken even with the might of the Ministry behind it.

So.
http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/59534/
We said at the beginning that you, the readers, would decide any conflicts that came up about HM's answers. He
did answer the question. (#9, that is.) But he did not do so in the actual question. In fact, he did so 13 days and 13 hours later. (Whoa. The weirdest part about that is that 13 is his favorite number.)
So… it's up to you, faithful readers. Did HM win or no?

Hmm...this is a tough one. You did not state explicitly that he had 100 hours to answer, nor that he had to answer in the question asked. But it does seem that those conditions should apply. I'll say Niffler wins this round.
