He isn't the handsomest lad in the world,
and he's not as rich as a king.
But that doesn't matter as long as he's good
at one very wonderful thing.

No, my lad cannot give me bright jewels to wear
or dress me in velvet so fine
But as long as he's good at that wonderful thing
I vow that he'll always be mine.

So all you young ladies who still are unwed
keep this in mind as you look.
If you can't get a lad who is handsome or rich
make certain that he's a good cook.

(And I'm so grateful for him!)

I'm still getting to know people in my singles ward. I NEED FRIENDS! Today, I had a conversation with another sort-of-new guy that, condensed, reads basically like this:

Me: So, I get pretty bored most evenings. If you ever want to, I think it'd be cool to hang out sometime.
Other Guy: Yeah! Actually, I am looking for a new place to live. Do you have any openings for a roommate?

So, basically: "Not only do I think you are cool enough to be friends with, but I actually think you seem cool enough that I wouldn't mind living in the same place." Too bad there are no openings right now; I would gladly boot one of my roommates out if it were possible so this guy could move in. That was one of the best pick-me-ups I have gotten in a while, and I am grateful for it. :) :) :)

I'm thankful that they combined our wards, because now there are actually people that are interesting and worth talking to. Not to say that there didn't used to be, but... there didn't used to be.

And, on top of that, they invite me to hang out and everything. And they do things that aren't sitting at someone's house trying to decide what to do! I mean, we're all adults at this point. Spending $10 to have a night out is not that unreasonable.

It must just be because this group of people has jobs.

And... yeah. At this point, I'm grateful for friends.

Yeah, it is rather ironic for me to make that joke about the song Bob mentioned, because I've never thought of myself as handsome or rich.

I do think I'm a pretty good cook, though.

Word. Unnecessary cheapness is just as unattractive as being a complete spendthrift.

You're rich compared to the rest of the world. (And you have very pretty hair.)

The Black Ram, who is super patient, and progress. Also, my family. Also, the chance coming up to meet the Black Ram's family.

Running. Which resets my hormones a little bit so that I can cognitively get over my problems.

I am grateful for modern medicine. I'm in the hospital right now with a GI infection, and if this had been 150 years ago, I really probably would have just died.

I am also grateful that I live in Canada and don't have to pay thousands of dollars for my 5 day hospital stay.

I got to hear Baby 3.0's heartbeat yesterday! So did Dragon Baby! And then we listened to DB's heartbeat. It was pretty cool. I'm grateful for my kids!

Not so grateful that the "job status has changed" before its close date. <rage>

I'm grateful for a boyfriend who supports me through my many, always-changing plans. I think he balances me well.

I also smile when I get Sister Zed's emails. I miss that girl.

I feel like I'm always saying I'm grateful for Yellow. But I am. Especially while pregnant. He's just always doing amazing things. Like today he woke up and went to work early so he could get home early, simply because he knew it would save my sanity in prepping for Thanksgiving and my dad's bday party.

But I'll say something else, too.

I'm grateful for audiobooks. I just love them lots and lots.

I'm grateful for Dayquil/Nyquil, and that my fever broke.

Also grateful I managed to get to Atlanta in one, sick piece.
