Scrolled through my friends list. Didn't see a single Christ as profile pic, and about 90% of my friends are LDS.

I am kind of completely in shock. I was rejected by 3 of the 4 graduate schools I applied to, and I assumed I would be rejected by the fourth, but I wasn't!! GUYS! Someone accepted me!

University of Colorado at Boulder, studying linguistics and (probably) first language acquisition.
Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
COOOOOOL
I feel... a little jealous! I wonder if I had studied language acquisition in grad school if I would have liked it better.

Obviously it's not set in stone yet if I'll really attend, but I'm still super excited.
Who knows, Whistler! Maybe one day you'll go back and try something else.

After the first word, Spelling Bee the Game gets immediately to the smarty-pants words you've never heard before

My first word was apoop.Digit wrote:After the first word, Spelling Bee the Game gets immediately to the smarty-pants words you've never heard before
Also, I've played this three times (and won every time, because they give you one more chance after my inability to spell "a fear of thunder", and it's always the same word which I happen to know!) and the words are almost always the same. I will keep going until I get it right!!

Ironically, Google, which I ended up cheating with, is of course a misspelling of googol, which the founders didn't intentionally do when they were registering the domain name. They didn't have Google to say to them "Did you mean 'googol'?

I have an incredibly attractive, smart, Mormon coworker who is starting grad school in Boulder in the fall. He's single . . . My inner Emma Woodhouse is tingling.mic0 wrote:University of Colorado at Boulder, studying linguistics and (probably) first language acquisition.

I like to think Mico's husband would object to you setting her up with another man. But I'm just old fashioned like that.Portia wrote:I have an incredibly attractive, smart, Mormon coworker who is starting grad school in Boulder in the fall. He's single . . . Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I hate doing laundry. I hate it so much that I put it off. And then I have to clean every piece of clothing I own, except for my laundry day outfit. Which is not something I particularly feel like wearing in public.
Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
What will Mr. Mico be doing in Colorado (liberated man, that, taking your pseudonym. : ) )
Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
He doesn't know he took my pseudonym
He will be working from home since he is a software engineer and can do that. It's a nice set up, really.

That sounds truly fabulous. Hopefully the Rocky Mountains in your backyard aren't TOO distracting for either of you. ; )mic0 wrote:He doesn't know he took my pseudonymHe will be working from home since he is a software engineer and can do that. It's a nice set up, really.
