Went with my good friend Critter (who I haven't seen in far too long) to buy Quarry passes. Also got sandwiches. Also talked for hours. And watched a Sherlock.

I'd forgotten how much I love climbing. And long conversations. And people. (But I remembered about food and Sherlock, of course. How could I forget that?)

Going to go climbing most days. Maybe this summer won't be all bad.

I almost got married twice in my dream last night. The first time the bride said no last minute. (And I would like to point out that this was after I did a month and a half long walking pilgrimage to the wedding ceremony.) The second time I called it off when I realized that I barely knew my fiancé.

I went a little crazy this weekend, and got an xbox 360, a kinect, and six games (admittedly since I got all of this on ebay I spent less on all of it than if I had gotten the xbox 360 alone new). Now I just anxiously await 11pm so that I can get the ridiculously cheap but near new rock band combo with the mic, drums, and guitar. And Rock Band is the reason I chose the xbox 360. I've played it on all three current systems, and I much prefer the game on the xbox.

I've listened to Joanna Newsom's Milk-Eyed Mender album about three times today. It's just perfect for today. I thought certain people on here (Uffish!) might appreciate that.

Man, I love that album. My recent favorites in that bunch are Bridges and Balloons and Swansea.

I'm trying to watch the eclipse and pigeons keep getting on my balcony and freaking me out.

We had solar glasses so we sat out on our driveway and played Candyland and watched. And ended up with several neighbors over and we took turns looking at the eclipse. Except when it was hiding behind clouds. Then we just grumbled about stupid clouds and visited. Which was good, too.

We were far enough north that we didn't get a lot of eclipse, but the shadows all turned into little crescent moons! That was cool. We used the binoculars-reflect-on-paper method.

I just learned about my cousin's YouTube channel, and watched a few videos. I really think he might be certifiably crazy. It's hard to tell between the weed and the beer and the accent and the yelling and the rambling half thoughts, but it sounds like he's saying he holds the consciousness of the Eastern gods in his mind, and it is his sacred duty to explain the things he's learned to the world via YouTube. It's half entertaining, half terrifying. And there are 75 or so of them ranging from just a couple of minutes to an hour and a half.

I am at 2 cm. For the 3rd week in a row. It is sort of driving me crazy.

Is this a pregnancy thing? Whatever it is, I am both curious and terrified . . .

I'm sorry. That is frustrating. It happens fast when it happens, though! And yes, it is a terrifying pregnancy thing.

The eclipse was so weird... it felt so funny to see the light go down to sunset levels, several hours before sunset. Cool, though.

This is why I opt out of getting checked. I don't want the frustration of not progressing. And the numbers really mean nothing. Some people go from 0 to 10 in a half hour and some people sit at 6 for weeks. I'd rather just not get my hopes or frustrations up.

And yes, Portia, it's a pregnancy thing. It's a measurement of how dialated you are. Or in simpler terms, how many centimeters across the hole the baby's head will come through is. 10 is the biggest. 0 is not open at all. Most providers won't even consider you in labor or admit you to the hospital until you're at least a 4.

The other day someone added me on chat. I didn't recognize the address, so I tentatively accepted. I later decided it was spam and blocked it. I had a dream last night that it was Dead Cat and I felt bad. So, Dead Cat, if it was you, I'm really, really sorry. I suggest you stop looking like spam, though.

I had a dream that I showed up for my hematology elective, and they told me to go teach a primary class that has the Olsen twins and Maculay Culkin (sp?) in it.

I dreamed that I was waiting for a flight but the seating in the gate area was this sort of amphitheater and sections of the seating would break off and get towed to the tarmac where the plane was waiting, but I kept getting unexpectedly towed to the wrong flight because I was sitting in the wrong gate area. (I frequently do this, anyway, if I've got a long layover and some other gate looks more comfortable or less crowded than mine.)

People are a lot more open to discussing relationship status in my dreams than in reality.
