Tom Bombadil had power in his song, apparently as long as he stayed in his own little corner of the world. Yet even this corner of the world was threatened by great evil. Tom Bombadil is careless of the coming danger and irresponsible. He does nothing. He is neither hot nor cold. He is useless.

I guess that shows what I think is important.

It's because the people stopped believing in him/the power of him over the forest or something like that. It wasn't entirely his own fault. This according to Elrond of Rivendell, as opposed to my own thoughts on the matter.

Wow, DanceSport. I used to love that. I did latin dance when I was a freshman and I spent a lot of time hoping that my partner wouldn't ask how old I was.
