Or people would forget to log in every day and so drop out of contention.

So, do we want to start our first "real" round? (And how do we feel about the theme-picker not being a player?)

I think the theme-picker can still be a player, though I see where that came in. They could always pick a theme they know they could win at (like if I chose Medea. How many songs do you know about that?) but I think ... either way. I'd hate to miss out on a round just because I chose a word.

(I forgot to post last night, but everyone else did too. I would've been cheating anyway, as I discussed with my family on Sunday and they reminded me of this lovely gem: Red is the color of an apple, orange is the color of an orange, yellow is a lemon and the beautiful sun sun sun, green is the color of trees and lots of things that grow and then there's blue for the sky and purple that's a color that's fun fun fun. And when you put those colors side by side, now what do you think we've done? we've made a rainbow, and it's a really beautiful one (one, one). Oh, I like Red...
Anyone recognize that song?)

OK, how about this: The theme-picker can play but they can't win.

Also, what if multiple people go out on the same round at the end of the game. Who wins?

Sudden death round? A judge or something is chosen, the contenders are given a new topic, and they have a certain amount of time to send a PM to the judge with as many songs they can think of. Whoever has the most different ones wins.

Also, dear C4, I've been trying to think of the words to that song this whole game. Seriously. Random always uses it when a color comes up; you'd think I would have learned it by now!
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

Would that work if not everyone is on at the same time of the day?

Other options:
-The last person who posts wins. (This might lend an advantage to certain time zones, though.)
-The person who posts the most obscure song in the last round wins. (How do we determine obscurity?)
-In the event of a tie, the theme-picker chooses the winner.

C4, that song is from Barney and it has been on my list since the beginning, just waiting until I exhausted all my better known choices. If we were still playing, I would retaliate with Barney's Traffic Light song. But I think we're moving on to something new now, so it matters not.

That was actually the first one my mom sang to me, but I can't remember it! So I decided it couldn't count. Not that the other one should count, since my family thought of it.

Are we looking for someone to volunteer as theme-picker now, or are we still working out the wrinkles? I think the rule that the theme-picker can't win is good, so even if they do "win" the next best person gets a chance.

I also think the theme-picker would just choose the winner in the event that everyone loses at once. (Another option is that instead of the last person to post, the first person of the day to post, but with everyone coming at different times that's not fair either.)

OK, we'll try it that way. (And if some unforeseen problem arises, we'll try it a different way, next time.)

Also, I suggest putting the theme in the name of the thread for each game, so it's easier to find. (So this thread, if it hadn't been a practice round, would have been Encore - "Yellow" or something along those lines, with a clearer explanation of the theme in the first post.)

I think we're ready for a new round. And as the first person to post after I suggested starting a real round, I nominate you. Go!

Man, if we were doing "blue," Smeed would totally win.

I know! I thought of this game as soon as I saw that post.
