I believe our Church leaders can be and usually are inspired, but I also believe that they can be and sometimes are uninspired. I also believe that they don't need inspiration on most issues, but that we should still sustain their decisions even if we disagree. Sustaining does not mean we have to agree. And disagreeing does not make us apostate or reflect upon our testimonies in any way. And if we disagree, we have the right to make our leaders aware of this; I'm not advocating making a scene at stake conference, but I am advocating speaking up at ward council or talking to the bishop about something he said in his chastity lesson (which I, of course, have NEVER done). The hard part is when they think that the member is confused about what they said because, of course, they're the bishop and right, and the member acknowledges this fact. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to say "bishop, I think you're wrong" without coming across as combative?
I'm with you on this, but I don't know if I have any good suggestions.
Also, WELCOME BACK LOST LAMB!!
Also, my dissertation defense is in 6 days!!!!
Is that all random enough?

I just posted this in a different thread, but I'm excited enough to say it again... I have an interview on Tuesday for a user interface design job -- which is SOMETHING I ACTUALLY WANT TO DO! Hooray!

Thanks! Don't worry C4, I'm not the crossing type, usually. Given my new RM status, it'll probably be a while until I'm too uppity.
Wow, Chess Boxing.
Anyone see something wrong with ward leaders asking yesterday for confirmation on what my favorite scripture is for my missionary plaque?

Not much purpose in it now.

So, I found a dog at my school, and I brought her home. I've posted an ad on craigslist, and I'm going to make posters, but I WANT TO KEEP HER!!!!

My feet got super excited this morning when I put on my hiking boots for the first time in awhile. It was like they knew something awesome was about to happen. I flipping love hiking.

I must be a weakling, but it was SO HARD to scrape off the car this morning. I spent several minutes on the windshield before giving up and waiting for the defroster to get rid of the rest.

Wow, you guys. Just wow. Event planning is crazy. Overall, I think it went well, considering the fact that it snowed a bunch yesterday. So the trail was a little icy and DEFINITELY sketchy in one part. We even had a few slips and falls... But otherwise it went relatively smooth.
MAN, AM I GLAD THAT'S OVER.

Only if you care to ask.
I occasionally do contract-based specialty cataloging work for a library vendor in Utah. I hadn't done any work for them since September (and that was a pretty small job), but I was contacted this week and asked to do a sample for them as part of a bid for a major retrospective conversion project. I'll probably make around $200 for doing the sample and if they win the contract, I could have a lot of part-time work for a while.
