I asked
#61401 a while ago, and I wanted to share with the world the good news that Myst IV's soundtrack is now downloadable on iTunes. Myst fans, go forth and enjoy.

Heh. Birds are tricky sometimes. Back home, there was one time when a bird somehow got itself stuck inside the wall between our kitchen and bathroom. He was stuck in there for a day or two before we finally ended up cutting a hole in the wall to get the little guy out. Poor bird. Poor, crazy bird.

Thanks, everyone, for the enlightenment! I never even thought about mold, let along the growers trashing the house for ventilation, not worrying about water, etc.
I do know that simply buying high-power grow lights (for, say, growing tomato plants indoors) can result in a visit from the DEA. (Things like tomato plants will generally not yield particularly well unless you give them some serious light, which isn't going to happen indoors without serious equipment of the type discussed in Eirene's link.)

Have you experience with this?

Fun fact, my uncle's garage has such lights in it. It is the best lit room in the house. The only reason he has them is because he runs a business from his garage, otherwise they would be illegal due to their common use in growing pot.

@DL: nope, not personally.

I wouldn't mind growing tomatoes indoors, but I simply don't have the space! (Starting seedlings is a whole different story: I've done that just fine. But it just takes way more light for full-grown plants, especially to get them to produce fruit.)
@Unit: interesting. I'm guessing that must be just his state, or something, because they're certainly legal in many places. As long as you aren't growing controlled substances.

I want a workspace with awesome lighting!
...
Maybe I should have a workspace first.

Heh, I actually had a dream about this last night. I had the coolest desk (like a drafting table) with all these nifty drawers and cool lighting and awesome furniture all around. But we might need to get out of our one-bedroom apartment before I can get one...

Guys! I got my first order of essential oils today! (After a slightly panic-inducing ordeal of them delivering my package to the wrong street and me seeing the "delivered" status online and knowing full well it was never actually delivered to me.) So excited!

So I've posted on here before about my, um, gentleman friend back in the US. He informed me last night that he *would* be asking me out as soon as possible after I move back in June. I'm pleased, to say the least.

Please don't call him a "gentleman friend." That makes me think the two of you are far more....involved... than is actually the case.

*cough* Whoops.
I'm kind of at a loss for what to call him, though. Suggestions? (I think I might regret asking this.)

Is that really any less fishy than "gentleman friend"?

I'm going to hell. The first thing I thought of when Richard J. Maynes stood up was "giving blessings to bald people is always so uncomfortable."
